In game music, other music just gets in the way of crucial sounds and I'm too lazy to get the music I'd like for certain strategy games, largely because I can't afford to get lots of classical and movie music legally.
Though unless I'm using vent I listen to my general playlist which is too big to list during Guild Wars.

Whenever I play Paradox games I turn off the music volume and pipe in a playlist from iTunes. Mixture of Ace Combat, Star Wars, Mass Effect 2, and The Dark Knight tracks, with a few vocal pieces mixed in (mostly by Michelle Branch).
In GTA games, the radio station for user tracks varies a lot. Usually I'll have a lot of Michelle Branch songs on there, plus Ice Cube, Wu-Tang Clan, and Clapton. These days I tend to have a lot of Die Ärzte and Die Toten Hosen too, plus a little Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
