I'm about to pre-order...is Babylon worth the extra money?

I think that they will be releasing the DLC later as purchasable. It's up to you if you want to. I did, and it's another civ to play with. Can't really say much else right now.

    Babylon info

For Babylon, they have a UU, the bowman which replaces the archer, and a walls replacement building as their UB (walls being an early defensive building). Their ability grants them a free Great Scientist with Writing (an early tech), and gain Great Scientists at double the rate of others.

Arrow Keys as opposed to W,A,S,D

It seems most strat games I've played are like that, even Civ IV. Most of the time in strat games WASD are used for shortcuts...

    Civilization V Announced!

Huzzah! The time for CiV is upon us!

    Where's the tutorial?

I believe it's only in the Vanilla version of Civ IV.

How good are the expansion packs?

People consider Warlords worthless because all of the new stuff it had is also in Beyond the Sword. So buying Beyond the Sword is like buying both Beyond the Sword and Warlords, content wise. And yes, Vanilla Civ is Civ without the expansions. Personally I would reccomend BTS because it has a...

    Civ4 or Civ3?

Oh yes Tom, and your post makes you look like such a bigger & better man by unnecessarily flaming him. Well done. All petty arguing aside, I've played both and I have to say that I like Civ 4 better. It (in my opinion) is more fun and less tedious. A game in bot civs can last a long time, but...

    Take-Two Finances Follow-Up

They already did this. It was Civ Rev, which wasn't such a bad idea imo since it got more Civ 4 players. However, I hope that whatever happens, two things don't happen: EA takes over Take Two Civ 5 is dumbed down from from the previous Civs (like civ rev, but not a 'spinnoff' of sorts)

    Monitor Resolutions?

I use 1200x1024, my native screen res, or on my laptop, 1280x800. I don't think I would want a big widescreen for several reasons. -increased strain on graphics card -I prefer to have more vertial space as opposed to horizontal -not enough space on my desk.

How do you cheat via World Builder?

When I give up on a game, I go into the WB and see what the map looked like. Aside from that, I don't use it. If I end up going into the WB, I won't play the game afterwards, but sometimes I feel like goofing around and giving myself 50+ great people and a 1000 pop city with 6 trillion people in it.

    anyone ever use serfdom?

The Hagia Sophia goes obsolete with Steam Power, which adds a 50% worker bonus. In other words, whoever has the Hagia Sophia won't have a change in improvement speed. I used to solely use Serfdom because of it's low upkeep until I realized how usefull Caste System is. Now I never use it.

Earth18: Let's give the Incan city to the Romans

I was playing the Earth18 scenario (man what a steamroll!) as England. I was the first (and only) to settle in South America, so I made those cities a colony of Ottomans under Mehmed II. Earlier in the game I killed the Romans, and obliterated them off of the face of the Earth. However, later...

How do you play Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword ?

I usually play with no modifications out of the custom game settings (and for that, Permanent alliances). For maps it's usually Big & Small, Medium & Small, or Hemispheres. I should try something different.

Most innoying character on Civ IV

I laughed so hard at this post. I would say you've made my day, but I'm about to go to bed. I don't really like Mansa Musa, as he is a huge tech whore. Monty I expect to DOW me now, and Shaka is just a larger power than usual. Isabella is a pain for me since she never is on my side, but is...

    Will Colonies Ever Rebel?

I've never seen any of my colonies break free. When I demand resources, they act like "-1 You made an arrogant demand!", but I never see any modifier. But I normally gift them spare resources I have (like pigs and cows) Same with my conquered vassals, although if I have vassalized them, they...

    Favorite Civ Game

I've played and own Civs III, IV (with latest expansions) and Rev, and I like IV the most. Imo it fixed a lot of what III suffered from.

    Conquer the continent

I usually like to "unify" my home continent, but things like capitulation, Flanders-worthy neighbours and sheer size makes that kind of hard sometimes. In my last game I was making progress but a stupid domination victory got in my way .

    Earth 18 Civs

Actually, in my current game, the Aztecs and Incans both hated the US and DOWed him.
