Civ5 Patch 1.0.1.135!

The only thing I've run into is that when I take over a city there is nothing in it. I think I've conqured a dozen cities or so, and the most they had in them was a library. Even the walls that slowed me down are gone. Its this a bug or is it part of the new patch? Playing on the king level btw.

^ Well, I just crashed for the first time on turn 553 on my huge/marathon game... Hopefully it's an anomaly, but I'm damn sure not holding my breath

After 533 turns crash? that's very bud! How many patches we have to wait to finish an interesting game?? what are they doing there (firaxis/2k)?

Yesterday, a record: 5 crashes in one day.
Now, I save at every turn.

Mac equivalent available today, per @Aspyr_Support via Twitter.

I don't think this is the case. My mac version, after update, is 1.0.0.621a, and NOT 1.0.1.135 which is what my windows copy says. The mac version lacks he gameplay fixes mentioned in the windows patch notes, for example, playing the patched mac version I still can have specialists in my libraries (well, paper maker at least).

Why is everyone crashing. I never had a crash with the new patch yet. Must be a computer issue not a patch issue.

I've never had a crash yet. But I am beginning to long for the next patch too. The recent one does in my opinion show what a glorious game Civ V can truly become. The developers should not hesitate to add more stuff to it. At the same time, I emphatically do not wish to see the return of Religion (at least as an attitude and diplomacy influence), of the Stack of Doom, of the Slider, of the teeming myriads of spies or of the corporations, which defintiely were one complexity too far. I love the hexes and the city states!

Hi,

I think the crashing is a computer issue. Simply lower some of the detail settings. I bought a brand new HP Envy quad and it crashed a lot, but my slightly older duo-core runs it smooth as silk. The game eats memory and processing like the Cookie Monster, so I also turn off all programs that run in the background and load on startup like skype or utorrent or other kaka you don't need. To check go to Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > run then type MSCONFIG. I disable anything that looks unnecessary, leaving intact java, my virus software, and a couple of microsoft progs. I'm not an expert though. This just helped me.

By the way, I like these changes, despite the dampening of several of my favourite Wonders and Policies. Wow, now I really struggle between picking Tradition or Liberty and Freedom is way less powerful. And the Horseman's new city penalty. LOL. All those that tweaked the settings and 'achieved' Deity Victories with the early Horseman should have to redo it for the Achievement. This game is becoming what it should have been in the beginning. Thx Fireaxis.

I'm now playing turn 554. The game is a post patch game that started pre patch.
Funny: I can build stoneworks, but there is no stone to be found. OK, marble there is... but no stone.
All the rest works fine.
I didn't fall in Happiness, I now have a large (2nd) empire with 120 hapiness. What did drop drastically was culture. I can only win a culture game by focussing on culture, which increase culture a few 100 points.

So actually, the big downfall in hapiness and culture is not so big in my opinion, (or this game).

I am not having crashes, but I have seen a few funky things. I had a case where an iron deposit marked as having 2 iron only gave 1 when mined.

I've started a Marathon game with the new patch, everything random but the following options. I started with Russia (Catherine), Huge map with 20 Civilizations (24 city states), and chose continents for the map, also playing on Immortal. I experienced good game play except for a crashes that have plagued my system from the start, and it has something to do with clicking on alerts that deal with city states. This has been a problem for me in Civ5 from the very beginning and continues as such after the patch.

As for the AI, it is still just as horrible as it ever was, Suleiman as a player would have given me a great fight because he was able to grab his Janissaries before I could get gunpowder, but he only built a few of them and allowed me to build up my forces and completely overrun his homeland before he decided to react. England which started on a different continent has worked toward buying off tons of city-states, so I moved to kill off a few without going into permanent war and over paid to gain the allegiance of the others to split the vote. I have over 16k gold in the treasury to buy the rest once I get close to the UN.

I was easily able to build any wonder I wanted, and have built Moscow into a super city, grabbing all the wonders I thought necessary to win.
My strategy has been straight forward, be patient and let the other civilizations kill each other off or make the first move against me and then war them until they can no longer have a say in the game, and keep a standing army in the top three in the world, this was very easy following the Liberty -> Tradition > Order social policies. I'm currently at the edge of the Modern Era with 1161 points, with 2nd place going to Elizabeth with 753 points. I plan to win with the UN or Space Race, I'm trying really hard not to just take the few capitals that remain to see what the AI will do when placed in a corner.

I like the patch, it is a step forward, but for any real Civilization enthusiasts I still say the CIv4 AI is head and shoulders above Civ5.

Why is everyone crashing. I never had a crash with the new patch yet. Must be a computer issue not a patch issue.

Same here. Only got about 5-6hrs in on smaller maps but no crash issues as of yet. I'm wondering what the deal is. Maybe I'll find out this weekend.

I believe the stone works is supposed to give +1 gold and +1 production in the city where it is built, and +1 production per worked marble or stone tile. In a test game the stone works also gave me +1 gold per worked river tile. Is that a bug or did I not correctly understand the way that building is supposed to work?

I know it is not a big deal and some of you are probably getting tired of hearing it, but I hope they add a reload map feature in the next patch.

Well, pach and patch and patch......
How i can use these patches if i can't play on huge or large maps???
From the first patch the first fix should be the problem to load/play late games on large/huge maps. Shame....
