Destination Africa: Tanzania

In the center of this picture you can see two crocodiles. The coming weeks are their big moments of the year. Their feasting during the crossing can last them the whole year.

Zebras love to show me their bums!

We stopped for lunch among a herd of Wildebeests. At times groups of them would just start to run.

We drove around what often looks like an empty Serengeti.

But we spied a lioness who had missed a kill

After such an effort, it was time to rest in the shade.

The herds revealed themselves all around. If you listen closely you can hear them "talking"

There are over 1.5 million wildebeests in the migration herds plus zebras and antelope etc. I saw just a small part of them.

And there were more....

Saved by a giraffe!

The safari is winding down to its final couple of days and they were eventful.

If you are squeamish, this video may not be for you. My guide was on an errand in the evening and caught this brief event on his phone. A successful hunt.

On the road back to Karibu camp.

Looking one way then the other while in an arroyo we were crossing.

Lions, Cheetahs and Leopards! My last full day was full of the big cats. The morning began with a serene lioness.

These four videos show our engagement with the lioness. She moved from her initial rock into the tree at the right and then moved out again onto a new rock on the other side of the tree. There were at least two more lions in the tree.

Still shot of her.

After the lioness, we moved along and were radio directed to three young male cheetahs. These video track our time there. One wandered off after a bit leaving two.

Still pics of the cheetahs. the first was cropped, but not the others.
