Yes, I began ignoring the scores when I started doing cultural victories. I noticed that domination victories, which occur earlier in the game, get ridiculously high scores. KMadCandy is right, the score isn't related to the fun you had winning (or not winning :mischief:).
I just tested the idea. I was at war with Mehmed and both he and I had open borders with Saladin. So I opened up World Builder and placed a battleship belonging to Mehmed in one of Saladin's cities, and placed a warrior belonging to me just outside the city. Sure enough, when my warrior...
This is vague. What exactly are you referring to?
hmmm...maybe. I suppose the game could look at the abilities of the units on opposing sides and then make some mathematical calculations. But I am not sure this would make the game more enjoyable.
I am thinking that 9/11 took the joy out of...
I am not sure about this. Surely you have noticed that Gandhi is more reasonable in his tech requests than is Catherine? Annoying or placating other rulers is part of what makes diplomacy interesting. Although it might be nice to ask for something in return, rather than be a straight gift...
This seems very sensible, especially with open borders. The day to day activity of commerce would generate plenty of information about other nations.

I dunno...
hmmm... perhaps not right now, but with the demographic changes (immigration and differential birth rates) which have been ongoing, a Moslem England may be possible in 100 years!
I haven't played continents for sometime now, but when I did I usually waited until I had the State Property civic. Otherwise the cost of maintaining captured cities would be a major drain on my finances.
About the only time I would make an exception is if I wanted to grab a religion and build...
Someone posted in this forum saying that there had been a delivery delay to Amazon, so on Oct 25th Amazon had nothing to ship. I pre-ordered on Oct 2nd but on Oct. 27th, it still hadn't shipped and wasn't estimated to ship until the 29th.
I think people who took advantage of the free...
For the past three years I have been using a bottom end E-Machines desktop to play Civ 3 (and Morrowind). And its behaved very well. :)
I don't know a lot about computers, but it looks like E-Machines may make a computer that would run Civ 4... and its only $649 (less if you buy it soon). My...
How can we do this? I am replacing my computer in three or four weeks, but right now have an Intel 82845G graphics controller. I launched the game and my units are standing in a sea of black ink (I can see the squares but no terrain features.)
