Aaah backstabbery. It can be fun and add a little spice but if it is done like Catherine did against me it's just plain and simple lame.
Excellent relationships => her declaring war to me with the reason she just pretended to be friends and here comes the best: she never sent a single unit to me...
It depends on the type of game and map.
In nomad :
British or Japanese. British are strong economically and Japanese are good for early rushes.
With small town:
Dutchies. Starting with a market, two merchants, one trade tech and a reduction on trade techs of 10% is just economically enormous.
Did that *bleep* just say strategy games are not in anymore? sure it's a niche market, but the niche is still there.
Now sure i enjoy shooters when i'm bored and want some quick fun but strategy games are still on my top list.
And also , did he think about the fact the FPS market is...
None really follow me but one is dedicated to destroy me every time. Alexander, when he's in a game he's always close to me and always rushes me with hoplites en masse.
Actually it depends. What i found bad in Civ IV is that religion simply had too much impact on certain civs. You could get like -/+ 7 due to religions, which was a bit too much and made religions the must have diplomacy tool. But religions having a small diplomatic impact would be nice. I...
I'm not sure.
On one hand hexes, 1UPT and city states are steps in the right direction.
Small scale empires, global happiness and (to my opinion) too low production (vs science) are steps in the wrong direction.
To me the best fix is to add more options (in order to not anger those who...
I think its because CTP II wasn't rlly a major improvement over CTP I.
Additionally some criticism about the AI is very valid as well. Having played it again a couple of months ago i must say the AI is even worse than in Civ V .
On the other hand Sid Meiers could have learned a lot from CTP...
I briefly checked and no this isn't true. Civ IV was welcomed much better than Civ V . Sure there were complaints, as there always are when a new game is released but it isn't nearly as bad as the amount of complaints about Civ V.
You make it really hard for me to resist the urge to break a thousand rules .
But let's put it this way: Firaxis advertised Civ V as being very moddable and said themselves mods were very important for the civ franchise. So really, there is no sane reason why anyone would even try to defend...
Actually i believe people argue that Civ V feels more like a wargame . Which doesn't imply it has more strategy. If anything Civ V did gain on military strategy but lost a lot on economic and empire strategy.
No more war weariness , distance dependent city maintenance , important resources...
Personally i think the AI happiness bonus is the single most demoralizing thing about it. Nothing worse than playing a continent map and being forced to go through the amazingly huge army of the AI who conquered his entire continent. I don't mind the AI having production bonuses but considering...
Personally i dislike it . It's ok for an RTS like Rise of Nations but it doesn't fit a civ game to my opinion. It merely makes over-seas operations more tedious and i just liked transport ships overall . Nothing more epic as the feeling you have when unloading your transport ships .
Tbh its not a matter of leaders even Ghandi is one hell of a warmonger and Montezuma is actually "normal" to the civ V standards. I've played from prince up to emperor and in each difficulty the AI are *********** . No matter how many deals we have , no matter if i give them everything they ask...
Oh and btw , i went looking through some articles and something did truly disappoint me:
"First there's Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Then there's Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Then there's Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes."
It's Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty . Things like that...
