    1 Corinthians 6:9-10, the word commonly translated as practicing homosexuals or 'abusers of themselves with mankind' is in the greek arsenokoites sometimes translated as "one who has sexual intercourse with a male" or "anal sex",

    it is commonly considered to mean anal sex with a generalised implication of homosexual acts but also in reference to men and women, as it is an unusual term used only twice in the new testament in a similar list(1 timothy 1). In later Church writings it is used rarely (73 references known in all) and with some ambiguity (usually in such a list) to its precise meaning particularly in a modern analytical context, but the emminent doctor of the Church St John Chrystostom uses it in reference to greek pederasty and Patriarch John IV of constantinople used it specifically in regards to anal sex. (6th century)
