    Do you pillage during wars?

Sometimes if possible, I'll raze cities but wont pillage the resources. Using my settlers, I'll block off the land I just conquered after making peace/destroying my opponent and backfill later. Whatever army I have left would serve as a garrison and all is well... Except for my matinence cost...

    Workshops before guilds

*Actually this would be alot longer, but I accidently pressed the back button on my mouse and deleted 3 paragraphs. My patience is limited so :cringe: Anyway I guess i did miss the part about techs but then again....>.> Is it possible that your change is redundant?:cooool: The hundreds...

    Workshops before guilds

*Well you were comparing them to cottages. I kinda thought that you were comparing the turn amount too. Also you have to think that certain techs increase the hammer amount and state property negates the -:food: Also if implemented, it would be fastly overpowered as bonuses from technology stack...

    Are forts really useless?

But then you have to think. Players would jsut dot their land with forts since they aren't BAD and have no negative effects. The cultral thing would be cool though. Maybe resistence would go up as the number of units inside is increased...

    Workshops before guilds

*That would make workshops superior to mined hills. That literally obseletes a terrain type. *Also flawed, enabling you to find metals on grassland/plains without the map generator giving it to you. That would enable large amouts of hammer oh traditional food tiles. I think you can build...

    Dissappointed with Civ IV

Interesting. Apparently, Kelvar doesnt stop flying rocks from killing people :) But yeah, you do have a bit of a point. Its just that when you think of it, unless the infantry has mortars, they wont be able to counter artillery without thier own artillery or airsupport. Then again, I've...

Can anyone recommend a guide for a non beginner.

Possibly you aren't earning enough 'money', seeing as moeny = science. The tiles that give :commerce: , when worked, will add beakers to a city. of course if you have 10 :commerce: worked, but are at 70% sci, you'll have 7beakers which is how the sci slider affects things. Honestly I...

    Are forts really useless?

I must be special... I build forts :) Usually, I'd find a patch of worthless land between my enemy and me, hopefully surrounded by peaks/hills/desert and make a city there and name it Fort Nessecity. (and sometime the land isnt worthless...but it'll work) Then I'd have the city build a...

    unrealistic battle results

more or less. The greatest lvled unit ive seen in these forums is a lvl 21 helicoptor xd. Of course depending ont he type of unit, you are limited to what promotions u can recieve (ex. tanks cant get navigation) . However, u can grant units promotions using world builder in single player mode...

    What ever happened to.......?

If i remember correctly, I felt it was completely useless xd. It was basically the same as other bombardment weapons except it was one use. (Apparently missiles explode) I think bombardement in civ III did dmg to the city's infastructure, units, population or defence. But I'm not sure.

Catapults withdrawing to knights and cavalry!

YOu will notice that after a sucessful withdraw, the withdrawing unit has very little health left. Its not really a withdrawal in this case, more of a lucky route. So basically the catapults which managed to withdraw (the little bit of health remaining) would have routed in a rl battle and...
