Hey,

I think I saw a thread about this before, but I couldn't find it in the forum search. All that you need for a Chariot are The Wheel, Horseback Riding, and Horses. You do not need Bronze Working with Copper or Iron Working with Iron.

So what are they wearing (looks a lot like copper armor)? What are they fighting with (no copper or iron)?

Ya know how the sword is white? THats bone from the horses. And the brnze armor? Convienly brown colored cloth. Or mud. :D

The truth, of course, is that the Graphics guys probably did't know much about the tech tree when they made that unit.

True, but the only other way is to trade horses with someone, and this early in the game, you're more likely to have researched AH then have trade routes.

The point is that you need Animal Husbandry, not Horseback Riding.

Animal Husbandry + The Wheel + Horse Pasture = chariots. No trading necessary if AH reveals a horse resource.

Archers have knives to sharpen the arrows - medeaval arrows were mass produced and generally had no head - just the wood formed into a tip - at least thats what I saw on the telly a couple of months back.

chariots where just mobile archer platforms, and thus didn't need armour. they where to fragile to come close to the enemy. Later they where mostly used by officers who would have armour and bronze swords, but by that time the chariot was already considerd obsolete and bieing replaced by horsearchers.
