Something similar happened to me in a game today except I was trying to go for Space Race victory. I was about to win and the AI got a diplomatic victory. I won the Diplomatic victory once, basically everyone has to like you a lot. Personally I think the Diplomatic victory is the stupidest one.

The only thing I dislike about Civ4 is the slowness especially after you play for a while and especially in the later ages. Otherwise I really think they improved the game play and got rid of some annoying aspects of the previous games.

You Should really be able to build Railways with Oil or Coal. I mean trains don't run on Coal any more.

I don't know if this problem has come up yet but today I was playing a Civ4 game and I signed an Open Border agreement with the Mongols but when I slid the cursor over Genghis Khan's portrait it still said "Our Closed Borders Cause Tensions -2". Why isn't the Open Border Agreement eliminating...

You know what I don't like about Great People? The Great Person you get should be based on people from your actual civilization not just random Great People from history. If I'm playing as the Chinese I shouldn't get Homer as a Great Person.

Any Geforce card is NVidia. NVidia doesn't actually manufacture their cards (as far as I know), other manufacturers just make use of their chipset.

Sometimes the music stops playing for a while. I've noticed this happeneds in other games not just Civ 4.

Can you upgrade the video card in a Dell Laptop? I doubt you can.

Do NOT buy new hardware for this game. There is no way you need 1GB of Ram to run this thing - there is something wrong with the game itself.

I'm not overly pissed off here. I'd just like to be able to play through an entire game. It just really seems like this game uses far more resources than a game like this should need.

Also I've seen posts by people who have 1 and even 2GB of RAM and they report problems as well.

That's what I'm thinking myself. Modding might be nice but I think they should have focused on making this game playable first.

I've played on Large and Standard sizes so far. I seriously think there are problems with the game. They should have taken the time to fine tune it.

It's something to do with the game, that system should be fine for a game like this. We're not talking stellar graphics here.
