Here are some early Islamic units for the Islamic Conquests and Early Caliphates (632–661). The pack can also be used with and combined with the Umayyad Caliphate pack.
Here is a list of the units in the pack,
Arabic Bedouin Archer
Arabic Bedouin Camel Archer
Arabic Bedouin Cavalry
Arabic Bedouin Cavalry (Sword)
Early Islamic Ansar
Early Islamic Archer
Early Islamic Bedouin Chief
Early Islamic Crossbowman
Early Islamic Heavy Swordsman
Early Islamic Spearman
Early Islamic Swordsman
The units have a strong Bedouin flavor to them as the early Islamic armies were almost completely Arabic and most were Bedouin. This favoritism toward Arabs in the army would last more or less until the end of the Umayyad government and the Abbasid government would see the employment of a variety of ethnic groups including the beginnings of the employment of Turkish ghulams. Because of the strong Bedouin element they could be used for Arabic Bedouin throughout the middle ages if needed. The early islamic armies are not know for employing crossbowmen, but the unit is included just to complete the vanilla middle age set.
Kudos and thanks to embryodead for the animations for the Bedouin Chief, which are included in the download. I hope he doesn't mind me using them.
Animations Directions are included in the zip.
