[1.0.0.38] Religion button not working

It's a strange one this, when I try and found a religion I click on the button to access the found religion screen or access the religion/pantheon panel and all I get is a click and nothing happens. All other panels and buttons work.

The strangeness is because this only happens on my laptop, on my PC it works every time, I've got exactly the same mods installed on each machine. I've reinstalled Civ 6 and it works for the first game and then fails after that. I've tried deleting the cache and verifying my files, all to no avail. I'm one of these people that do many restarts before I find a map I like so I do start a lot of games and it is so annoying getting to the part where I choose a religion and can't.

Please somebody help!!

I just now have run into this exact error with 1.0.0.56 trying to play as Poland, thought perhaps they broke something with the patch, but I guess not. Wonderful. Kinda difficult to play a game without being able to select a religion. Don't suppose you've come across a fix yet?

Same thing here. I have some mods installed and am now in the process to uninstall each one before trying a new game to figure which one is broken.

I might try that now, though I've only got one "unofficial" mod installed, the historic religions mod oddly enough! It had been working perfectly for me until yesterdays patch though..

Edit #1: Tried to play with the mod disabled, and now with it updated and enabled, and still no dice! Absolutely frustrating, as every time I've started a game now, it has run into that same problem. I'm not going to play and NOT try for a religion ffs.

I have now uninstalled the game completely, deleted all relevant folders etc, and reinstalled with 0 unofficial mods or anything. It works! Now attempting to reinstall the Historical Religions mod and hoping it will work fine, as I do love the additions it makes!


Edit #1: While it is hardly ideal, the game is fully functional even with the added mod. No idea what caused this issue, hopefully if it happens to anyone else it can be figured out and fixed with something more efficient than completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game...

Having the same problem. 1.0.0.56 version. NQ balance mod v5.0 is installed.
"Choose pantheon" button is displayed, but clicking it does nothing. "Religion" button at top left corner of the screen also not working (but when I click it there is clicking and paper sound).
Anyway, I still can play ending turns with Shift+Enter.
