1.0 gram - Ancient Age All-Stars (C3C - Modified Rules)

Very nice :hammer: Grahamiam

It looks like Persia is headin' for the last roundup - Rome is on lifesupport and the plug is hangin'

We might want to ally with the Mayan against Rome and let them finish him off (it also keeps us from having to worry about Persia or Rome bringing him in against us)

Just a question for the number crunchers out there

If I understand the army bonus correctly, is this the formula and result bonus:

For an army of 3 Gallics:
Attacking would be 4 (3 units) X (Attack of 3) = 9 divide by 6 (no Military Academy) = 1.5 + 3 (original attack)
Defense = 3 (3 x 2 = 6 / 6 = 1 + 2 = 3)
Speed = 3 (2 base + 1 bonus)

For an army for 4 Gallics
Attack = 5 (4 units) X (Attack of 3) = 12 divide by 6 = 2 + 3 (original)
Defense = 3 (4 X 2 = 8 / 6 = 1.33 + 2 = 3.33)
Speed = 3

For an army of 3 MDI
Attack = 6 (3 X 4 = 12 / 6 = 2 + 4 = 6)
Defense = 3 (same as Gallic)
Speed = 2

For an army of 4 MDI
Attack = 6 (4 X 4 = 16 / 6 = 2.67 + 4 = 6.67)
Defense = 3 (same as Gallic)
Speed = 2

For an army of 3 Crusaders (if we get the Knights Templar)
Attack = 7 (3 units) X (attack of 5) = 15 / 6 = 2.33 + 5 (base)
Defense = 4 (3 X 3 = 9 / 6 = 1.5 + 3 = 4.5)
Speed = 2

For an army of 4 Crusaders
Attack = 8 (4 X 5 = 20 / 6 = 3.33 + 5 = 8.33)
Defense = 5 (4 X 3 = 12 / 6 = 2 + 3 = 5)
Speed = 2

And just for kicks (cause I've got tanks in another C3C game)
For an army of 3 tanks :spear:
Attack = 24 (3 units) X (attack of 16) = 48 / 6 = 8 + 16 (base)
Defense = 12 (3 X 8 = 24 / 6 = 4 + 8 = 12)
Speed = 3

For an army of 4 tanks
Attack = 26 (4 X 16 = 64 / 6 = 10.67 + 16 = 26.67)
Defense = 13 (4 X 8 = 32 / 6 = 5.33 + 8 = 13.33)
Speed = 3

Of course the ultimate:
An Army of 4 Modern Armor
Attack = 40 (4 units) X (attack of 24) = 96 / 6 = 16 + 24 = 40 :wow:
Defense = 26 (4 X 16 = 64 / 6 = 10.67 + 16 = 26.67)
Speed = 4

Unless you've got the Military Academy then it would be
An Army of 4 Modern Armor :drool:
Attack = 48 (4 X 24 = 96 / 4 = 24 + 24 = 48)
Defense = 32 (4 X 16 = 64 / 4 = 16 + 16 = 32)
Speed = 4

Edited to remove decimal values from final values (thanks Arathorn)

'Fraid you don't quite understand the bonus 100% correctly. There are no fractions carried over. Why not? Dunno, since they use floats in other parts of the code, but not here.

Army of 3 gallics only has an attack of 4. Army of 4 MDI has an attack of 6 (just like an army of 3 MDIs). Etc. etc.

I've got it. I'll watch WW, I'll switch to Monarchy if necessary since we're religious. It appears Persia is on the ropes.
WW is not to bad thanks to the alcohol near Pers ;)

thanks for the info Arathorn :) always wondered why they don't update the unit stats on the screen to let us in on the secret.

Pre-flight – 700 AD – We have some seriously unhappy people. Bump lux up to 30% and I still have to hire several tax men. I thought we were at war with Rome. Go back and reread the thread. G-man signed a treaty. A little more cash and we can try a steal. Oh, No one has anything to steal. Never mind.

IBT – Persepolis flips. We lose a MDI out side Pasagardae. Rome and Antioch riot. We quelled four resisters in Antioch. The Romans are just dopes.
August: walls=>horse Cataract: horse=>horse

1. 710 AD – Trebs go 3 for 3 at Hattusha, but we need more attackers.

@ Sardis – We lose an MDI , but capture the city and two trebs.

Move our armies out of Antioch, down to Tyre and kill one of the defenders.

Hire a clown in Samaria.

Move troops back towards Persepolis.

IBT – Maya pull Hittites in against Babylon. An iron source is pillaged and some slaves are captured. Build three MDI.

2. 720 AD - Trebs go 3 for 3 at Hattusha. Our MDI go 3 for 3 and the city is ours. One reister.

Rush a temple in Sardis to get some culture there.

Persepolis is recaptured without loss.

Our slaves are recaptured.

@ Tyre – Our MDI army captures the city along with three slaves.

Pasagardae is built on a hill. I will wait until we have more units to begin the assault.

IBT – We lose an MDI and kill two archers.
Watch the Babs tear up the Hittites.
Build three MDI, a barracks, a pike, and a temple at Sardis.

3. 730 AD - @ Sidon – Our GS army single-handedly captures the city. Hurry the temple in Hattusha.

I just noticed that three Iroquois cities are now Mayan. Looking closer, I realize it is actually five. I think Hiawatha is having his head handed to him.
IBT – A Persian archer is killed by one of our MDI. We build two MDI and a temple.

4. 740 AD – At Hamadan, our trebs go 2 for 3 and our MDI polish off the defenders.
Hurry temples at Sidon, Antioch, and Tyre.

Kill some roving Persians.

IBT – We lose an MDI to an archer outside Pasgardae. The Babs raise a Hittite city.
We build three temples, an archer, three horses and a duct.

5. 750 AD - @ Dariush – Our MDI army kills the two defenders and takes the city.

Pisae is recaptured and the nice Celtic lady that lives there is happy to see us. X-man is down to two cities.

IBT – Our gems are pillaged. :wallbang: I meant to attack that guy last turn. We build the Pentagon. Before anyone riots I scroll ahead and quiet the diamond lovers.
We build two horses.

6. 760 AD – Hurry a temple in Persepolis and in Dariush.
Kill one defender at Zohak.
Neopolis is unhappy because it grew. Hire a clown. I now have 12 units outside Pasagardae. The assault begins next turn.

IBT – Mursalis wants a MA against the Babs. Not yet. An archer out of Pasagardae is killed by our MDI. Persepolis builds a temple and starts the FP. We also complete a barracks, a temple a harbor, and two horses.
The Mayans build Sun Tzu’s

7. 770 AD – We kill another defender at Zohak.
Hurry Hamadan’s temple.
The battle for Pasagardae is bloody. While we have several units that are badly wounded, each of them wins their battle and the city falls. Two slaves are captured.

IBT – Build four horses, a temple, and three MDI

8. 780 AD – Hurry Pasagardae’s temple.
@ Zohak – One horse retreats, another is killed before our elite GS takes the city.
We have destroyed the fragile Persians.

I’m going to stop there, while we plan on our next move. The turn is incomplete. I’m thinking Babylon is looking nice with that bull’s eye painted on their uniforms.

this is what bugs was talking about :D very nice :hammer: !

10gram-780ad.JPG

imho, bugs, finish your last 2 turns, setting up denyd to take Ashur and Babylon while making sure the rest of the border is safe. Now that the war is done, the lux tax can be turned off and we can rush some more units/buildings.

Also, Pers seems very high in corruption so maybe we should make the FP in Richborough or Bactra instead. If we really like Pers, then we should rush a court and a market there before trying to build the FP.

I'll play the last turns. Expect the post sometime in the next 12 hours.

Don't rush it, I won't be able to pick up until Wednesday night.

780 AD – Con’t – Drop lux to nothing. MM our cities.
I am gathering our forces into two groups. The Western Task Force will be positioned west of Ashur to strike that city then move east. The Eastern Task Force will be positioned north of Izibia to strike that city then move west. The two forces should be able to join up south of Eulbar and polish off the Babylonians. The only issue will be the Babs that are strolling through our lands.

The Hittites have some workers for sale. I sell them Monotheism for two workers and 20G. While we aren’t getting full price for tech, they really can’t use it and we can use the labor.

IBT – Alesia: Horse=>pike
Bactra, Cataract: horse=>horse

790 AD – Maneuvering.

IBT – Entremont: Horse=>horse
Tyrana: court=>duct
Lyndum: pike=>horse
Curov: MDI=>MDI

800 AD – Last minute positioning.

Denyd will have a blast with this set up. I have some units scatterered along the northern boarder for some zone defense.

Looks like it's time for a Hammi sandwich :D

I should be able to get this done tonight and post.

Not much to discuss, just :hammer: Babylon

If the peace deal with Rome expires during my turns, I'll take a shot at finishing him off or else go after the Hittites (of course after Hammurabi is gone).

I really disappointed in having to ask for a skip. RL got in the way last night and I won't be able to play again until Sunday night. I did get a quick look this morning at the setup and that makes it even tougher to skip. Hammi is going to get clobbered. I'll be on-line for another 7 hours or so then out until Sunday.

If possible, maybe I could switch places with 6GenTexan for this round (I'm sure he'd like to give Hammi a good stompin').

hope everythings ok denyd

Roster Update
bugs <- just played
denyd <- after tex?
ankka <-UP
6thGenTexan <-on deck

Just unexpected (to me) guests last night that stayed late and then a family vacation starting tonight. (All good things, but they got in the way of playing this round).

ankka :bump: you get to take your gripes out of Bab's! please check in :)

i will be out of touch tonight (16th) and tomorrow (17th). i may have time on the 18th but probably not. i will be traveling on business from the 19th thru 23rd and access will be spotty. will try to check in when I can.

looks like this one is getting closer to the final showdown with my original favorite for this game, the mayan :D

Oops, sorry, I somehow just missed that roster. :blush:

Playing today, unless something happens. :)

800AD [Preturn]: Quite a different view than when I last played... no more orange color to be seen. :)

Nice SoD there... Will be a real :hammer: for Hammi.

One thing is what I'm wondering: We have the Pentagon, but only 3 troops in an army? :hmm: I'll add a fourth one when one is available.

Press enter.

IBT: Hiawatha comes and asks for a deal: 5 gpt for incense. I think it sounds reasonable... Bargain and get 6gpt. Sign deal.

Smoke- Jaguar pops in and asks for RoP + alliance against Babylon. Sounds good, but I don't want to be restricted by an alliance.

Stuff built.

810AD [1]: Demand Hammi to get out of our territory. He declares war.

Add a vet MID to the MID army.

Kill a wandering spear in our territory with an elite MID.
Kill a wandering bowman with an elite MID.
Kil another wandering spear with an elite MID.

Move the SoD in. Next turn the horsemen and armies can attack.

IBT: Lose 1 undefended horseman and one undefended MID at the borders in Babylonian counterattacks.

Greece declares war on the Maya.

820AD [2]:Lose a 1-hp elite MID to a 1-hp bowman. Was taking it too far on leaderfishing.
Lose an elite MID to a vet bowman. the RNG is not with me.

The SoD:

Elite MID kills vet longbow with minor scratches, the road to Ashur is open now. Only spears defending as the best defenders. Good.

Siege of Ashur:

The 4-MID army attacks Ashur, wins losing 2 hp.
GS army kills spear with one cratch.
GS army kills bowman losing 6 hp.
Vet horse retreats from reg spear.
Vet jorse kills 2-hp spear in Ashur, promotes to elite and takes the city + 1 gold.

Easier fight than I thought. Let's hope Babylon is tougher, it isn't fun not to need to use the whole power of the awesome SoD there is. ;)

Decide to start gathering a new SoD in the North of the new units, the one in the South should be more than enough. :)

IBT: Elite GS kills vet bowman attack.

reststance in Ashur ends, but it riots.

830AD [3]: Vet horse kills vet bowman and promotes.
Vet horse kills 3-hp longbow.

IBT: Hiawatha asks for RoP + MA against the Maya. No thanks.

Lose a horse and an archer in counterattacks.

840AD [4]: Attack Izibia with some troops:

Vet MID loses to vet spear without effect.
Vet MID kills vet spear.
Elite MID kills vet spear.
Elite GS rereats.

Other battles: vet MID kills 2-hp horse.
Vet horse kills 2-hp spear.

IBT: Lose one MID, but after it won 3 combats.

Lots of stuff built.

850AD [5]: Siege of Babylon:

Bombard with the trebuchets, but only 3 of 9 hit.
MID army attacks reg spear, wins losing one hp.
MID army vs 3-hp vet spear, wins losing another hp.
Vet horse attacks 2-hp spear, horse wins without hits.
Vet horse kills 2-hp spear with one scratch, promotes and takes the city! :king:

Other:

Vet horse loses to 1-hp bowman.
Elite horse retreats from vet bow without doing damage.
Elite horse kills vet bowman.

IBT: Resistance ends > Babylon riots.

860AD [6]: 3 bowmen gathered around Babylon so I disperse all of them with elites.

One vet bowman was a tight bite, lose one elite.

Gather troops to attack Nippur next turn.

We could afford stealing Chivalry easily, but I choose not to so we can build horses and then upgrade.

870AD [7]: Siege of Nippur:

14/18 MID army attacks vet spear > wins losing 2 hp.
12/18 MID army attacks vet spear > wins, but loses 6hp. :eek:
14/14 GS army attacks reg spear > wins, but loses 4 hp.
10/14 GS army kills reg spear & takes the city + a catapault.

880AD [8]: Assemble troops ready for the Nineveh assault.

890AD [9]: Vet horse dies when attacking vet spear.

Elite GS dies to vet spear.

Siege of Nineveh:

Bombard with the 3 trebs in range, only one hits.
Elite MID attacks vet bowman > wins losing 2 hp, and we get a leader! :king:
Elite MID kills spear.
Elite MID kills reg spear.
Elite horse retreats from spear.
Vet MID kils spear, takes city + a dozen or so of captured units.

Cunobelinus goes to rush the FP in Persepolis.

Vet MID kills an astray bowman.

900AD [10]: Leave movement for the troops so next player may attack where wishes. :)

Actually your turn looks good. For me it is the typical "I have all the time in the world to play until the weekend when my turn comes up in all my SG's at once." Since it is Sunday, I hoping Denyd would be able to take his turn before me.
