1.0 gram - Ancient Age All-Stars (C3C - Modified Rules)

I think the short Western Rome idea is spot on.

I would go for Xerxes and then Hammi. I still like Persepolis as an FP location. :D

ok, nice going on the Romans. Are they willing to negociate anything worthwhile yet? if not, take all the cities :) Unfortunately, it looks like we can't build gallic swords anymore. what a shame. I was starting to really like those units.

I think I need to get a life. I was planning on playing some serious Civ for the next three days. In Spokane we have a WLTKD planned for Sunday.

i need a life too. my weekend plans are civ and landscaping  i'm sure the wife will want to change that but i just had 4 yards of mulch dumped in the driveway and her car's in the garage

Rome is probably the only city Caesar has left that's likely to cause any damage to our attack force. He's willing to give a single city and 3 slaves or all 7 slaves. If we take Rome we get the slaves anyway and the single city is probably in the boonies.

I suggest that if we can't bombard Rome below size 7 next turn, the Gallic units head for another Roman city and return once it gets smaller. Alternatively, we could send the cats to the nearest barracks city and upgrade to trebuchets and then return to de-populate Rome, while the Gallics go take another Roman city. Rome is down to about 6 cities, so someone else besides us is chomping on a little Caesar salad.

Once Caeser is gone, send the Gallics to wipe out the Hittites (a 2CC) and the slow movers (cats & MDI) should reach northern Babylon about the same time the Gallics do to start the removal of Hammi. At this point Persia is #2 in size, but without iron, just a paper tiger.

Edit: you'd think our spouses would understand the priorities in life
1. Drink
2. Eat
3. Civ

Hey, only another year or two and you can try and produce another settler. That would set you up nicely with a four turn settler factory :D

Nice job everyone, but I will be away a little longer than I knew, until the 8th.

Since most of this team is Yanks, I don't think anyone is going to pick it up if you finish today. Enjoy the WLTKD.

This is one of those fun games you do not want to stop playing. Too bad I had to play my turns 2 at a time.

look around and hit enter

460AD-1 Lugdunum market-->granary Verulamium MDI-->aqueduct Spend 364g on 6 temples.
Only 2 catapults hit at Rome.
Elite GS retreats from Vet L 2-4
Elite GS retreats from Vet L 0-4
Elite GS loses to Vet L 2-5
Vet MDI defreats 3hp L 3-2
Vet MDI loses to 3hp L 2-4
Vet GS loses to 2 hp L 1-4
Vet MDI defeats 2hp L 2-2
Vet archer defeats vet archer 4-1
Ver archer defeats 1hp L 1-0
Reg archer defeats 1hp L 1-0 to take the city.
Rome has 2 resistors, 7 slaves and no improvements. Starts a temple.
Kill 2 reg archers on the way to Neapolis.
Move MDI to Persia. GS's will continue in Rome.

IBT THe Hitites do not like our slaves building roads to them. So does Persia.

470AD-2 Entemont Heroic Epic-->MDI Temples-->barracks or pikes. Alesia pike-->courthouse Camulodunum MDI-->courthouse Gerogvia courthouse-->granary 116g buys Rome a temple.

480AD-3 Cats go 3-5 at Neapolis.
Vet GS promotes on a 2hp L 2-0
Vet GS defeats reg spear 3-1
Vet GS loses to 1hp L 0-4
Vet GS defeats last defeder 1-2 to capture Neapolis wit 2 slaves and a resistor. Persia was at the other side of the town in the fog
Spend 44 on another temple and 302 on 3 markets.

490AD-4 Richborough MDI-->courthouse Tatae Coritanorum,Cataractonium and Curovernum start aqueducts after markets. Promote a vet GS on an archer.
Elite GS retreats from reg L in Hispalis 1-4
Elite GS defeats reg spear 3-2
Mis click and no one else can reach the town.

IBT wants to form an alliance against the Maya for a RoP. We will be on his doorstep in less than 20 so I pass.

500AD-5 Entremont is now at 20spt pulling a MDI every other turn.
Elite defeats reg L 3-0
Elite defeats reg spear 3-1 but Great Leader emerges.
Neapolis captured with 2 slaves.
Rush granary in Gergovia for 150+.
Kill lux tax about 5 turns to late.

510AD-6 Lugdunum granary-->MDI Bactra market-->courthouse Verulamium aqueduct-->courthouse Gergovia granary-->SunTzu's(waiting for Orgetorix to arrive). Kia a reg Legion in Syracuse and promote the GS (3-2). Rush temple in Neapolis.

IBT down to 3 towns, Rome declares on the Maya. The greeks capture Syracuse.

520AD-7 Rush temple in Hispalis. Rome is down to 2 cities now. I take Pisae, 2 workers and 141g for peace. I'll let the others fight for the last city. OK, I thought military leaders could rush Suntzu's. Orgetorix becomes an army. Spend 744 on barracks.

530AD-8 EntremontMDI-->cathedral Spend 210 upgrading 7 spears and 450g on 5 warriors. Move troops against Persia.

540AD-9 Cataractonium aqueduct-->courthouse. Move units to be ready for Persia. Rush 2 pikes.

550AD-10 Lugdunum MDI-->MDI Camulodunum courthouse-->MDI Eulbar Pike-->aqueduct. Byzantium Pike-->market. Ratae Coritauorum aqueduct-->MDI Spend our money on the last temple and a courthouse. All slaves put to work. Most units have movement left for the next person to move as you see fit to attack now or in another turn or two.

As you can see I spent our money and my time on buildings. We will need a few more courts and markets but we are lookign good after these builds comlete. I did gather a SoD to establish our FP in Persepolis.

To attack Persia, clean up troops near Byzantium then take Ghulaman. These troop should then head to Hattusha. Army and 5 MDI will need to go from start to hill to forest to attack Persepolis. From there I would go for Pasargadae and the horses. The town near Pisae can be their last town if we want to leave them one city. Eridu may fall if Persia attacks IBT. They just moved up 3 horses in range with only a pike defending.

The Game

Well played Tex!

I don't suppose Caesar will get uppity with us anymore. :D

sounds good Tex! looks like bugs instilled some fury in you from that "yanks" comment
we should build up our gold reserves to steal Chivalry from the 1st AI that researches it. I'm gonna put Mishto up now since Ankka is still out till the end of the week. We should seriously consider setting up the FP in Pers once it's captured.

I was thinking from a foreigner's perspective. Yeah that's the ticket. All Americans are Yanquis if you live in Latin America. :D

I'd like to revenge, but it's not possible time-wise. Sorry, I really only should join sg's if I have the time. But sorry, the next time I can play is next tuesday or wednesday.
