1.6ghz, 512mb RAM, 64mb mobility radeon 9000

Hi,

Does anyone know how well Civ4 will run on the following laptop system:

Dell Inspiron 600m
1.6GHz
512Mb RAM
64Mb ATI Mobility Radeon 9000

Any info would be much appreciated, especially if someone has already tried it on a similar system!! I'm a bit worried about the video card, which is pretty old by desktop standards.

Judging from previous threads, the game should definitely work, but I want to make sure it's not too laggy once you have a bunch of cities.

I have a very similar setup (only 9200 instead of 9000), and it works, albeit not smoothly. Besides I had the black-world problem which I had to fix. I would perhaps consider a new computer if possible.

No harm in trying anyway.

Edit: I will try getting more RAM I think. It looks like most people with much memory can run the game smootly even with low-end graphics card and other things. Maybe...

I have IBM Think Pad, same graphics card (32MB), 1.7Ghz, 512MB ram.
Upgraded to omega drivers. Game running more smoothly than before, but a bit slow. But it is playable. Didn't have the render error, or headless leader/black terrain prob. Hope this helps.
