is it possible to share the control of a civilization between 2 players?

some RTS games have this option but i didnt find that in civ4 yet

Technically, no.

But there are several organized Democracy games and other variants out there, in which a team of players will play one civ and use forums to facilitiate communication.

You can check out Realpolitik for an example of this.

i was thinking about a more real-time solution :)

like one player controlling one set of units, the other player controlling another set
maybe with a "pass control to other player" button :)

one small problem would be cities requesting a new building at the start of a turn
that could be replaced by a queue that is available to both players
the next turn button wouldnt turn red until that queue is empty

I knew you were, but it's not possible, I'm afraid. perhaps some SDK work by a good modder will get you that one day, but at the moment the closest you can come is Team Games.

I know it's not what you wanted, but them's the rules.

;)

I think the closest you can get is being on the same team as someone.

u could permanetn allience with some one u share techs, resources, luxuries, Win/Defeat u still have ur oen cities and own units. If u decleare war the other must if u decleare peace tho other is bound by it
