1 tile bridge?

i dont think its that people CANT build large bridges... its that well... it wouldnt be both cost effective, or even possible...

Building a 1/2 mile road costs about 12.5million USD
Building a 1/2 mile modern bridge probably costs 40million USD

Yeah... thats reason #1.

#2... uhh fuel....uhh perhaps a bullet train or something... but cars, no way...

Wow... thats alot of money for just a bridge. But I guess on Civ that might be a bit different, still that was real informative and well shocking So I guess we can only guess what a chunnel would cost.

The Chunnel cost $15 billion to create
and runs a length of 31 miles, 23 of which are underwater

See thats why I think the chunnel might be unrealistic and outa the question due to cost. Well bridge it is, cause 15 billion is an insane amount of money. :crazyeyes:

yeah i dont think bridges spanning one square should be in the game. however, maybe you could get 1 chunnel...as a minor wonder.

I think it should just be a one tile bridge, I mean you could make the construction take a while to kinda show for the actual cost? But I dont know a chunnel is still alot of cash

well, that all depends on how big 1 tile is. If its 100 square miles, as someone stated thats what it might be, then its 10 miles on a side. are there any 10 mile long bridges? i dont know, but i dont think there are. so, IMO, a 1 tile bridge or chunnel would have to be a minor wonder or something, cuz its a darn big project, hehe

Yea! Maybe like the Golden Gate Bridge wonder? Or Brooklyn Bridge. Good idea, but hey if you add huge support cost to it, it might be more real.
I think it might be a interesting addition. I still think there should be a tile limit though. Maybe 3? It would be nice to connect some of those islands on some maps.
