Translation: AEGIS Cruiser (2 turns....)

Is this a bug, or have I missed something?

I added an extract from my rules.txt to show you that the cost of an aegis cruiser really is 100s, but it still takes two turns to build.:confused: :confused:

I realised I should have put a circle around the cost, but the cost is the number after "3h, 2f, "
 
He must have done it himself. It's not hard, just open the rules.txt, scroll down to the units section and change the names, while making sure that the commas remain. Then you've changed the unit names. The same thing can be done with the rest of Civ2 in the Rules.txt, Game.txt, Labels.txt etc.

It's a lot of work, though...

AFAIK there is no Swedish version of Civ2. :confused:
 
For any units with cost 100 or more it shows 2 turns but in reality you may get it in one turn. Could be that the function to estimate number of turns only takes two digits.
 
Dag! 115 shields? Holy wa!

Is this common for all of you? I get 40-50 and I feel that I'm overacheiving! :lol:
 
Xin Yu is right. It will report 2 turns, but you do in fact get all your shields each turn. I was hacked just like you, funxus, when I first saw that in one of my games. I spent time just like you trying to figure out why. Not I just keep track manually when a city makes 100 and more shields.


BTW, I try to plan my cities to go for the magic numbers of 5, 7, 10, 13, 14, 17, 20, 25, 34, 40, 50, 54, 60, 80, and 100. Those multiples are important for effficient micromanagement, but I'll keep off that sidetrack here. :)
 
I've translated it myself, i.e. all files except half of game.txt. The file is 90 kb large, so I haven't had time to finish it.

I just built a Mfg plant in the city, and it's late game, I've almost conquered the world, so I believe there's no need to micromanage:) . I usually don't get cities with a production of 120, I think it's my record, but I usually try to get one or two with a production over 80, 1 stealth fighter or armor per turn.:)
 
Funxus, couldn't you zip the translated .txt files and upload it? I bet some Swedes would like 'em... :) :goodjob:
 
I did, in the technical support forum here.
All files except game.txt should be translated. I think game.txt is not the latest version, i.e. I have translated more of it than I've uploaded.
It's only for 2.42 though, because MGE uses a different game.txt.
 
A good way to make a super-production city is to plant a small town on some hills, put airbases on almost all squares in city radius (to get air units out of city in one turn, no stopping at airbases), and mine every square in city radius.

Hills = 1F + Mining (+3M) + Railroad (+1M) + Airbase (+1 w/o supermarket, +2F w/ supermarket)

Basically, you can get 3 food and 4 shields out of every square. Add that to factory and man. plant...owch! :P

One-turn nuclear missiles, despite the fact it says two.
