11 Magyar units

@mamba: I tried your units and had a look at your artdefines, nothing new.

Here is the screenie:

I found some other hungarian units (cannon, grenadier...) in your mod. Looks like they have been made out of the huszar. Did you make them? I think I will use them for my mod as well...

They work for me, no idea what is wrong at your end.

You could try removing all the units not ending in _HUNGARY from Hungary_CIV4UnitArtStyleTypeInfos.xml (as these are defined outside the civ) and use the remaining civ with BtS. If it works then, there still is something different in how I set them up, otherwise it is PC related.

The spearman hand is off for me too, that is something Zerver would need to fix.

The other hungarian units in my mod are Zervers too.

Okay, I tried your mod now with bts. That's even more strange! I got nearly the same problems as in my mod besides that the shield of the unit was green. But all the other units didn't work correctly. They had similar problems: when I add them they look as their normal corresponding units which means that there was the original longbowman instead of the hungarian. I had this problem also with the huszar that was not made by Zerver (I know that because I requested it from bernie, the original maker :). When I selected the unit it changed to the hungarian unit. After selecting an other unit it changed back to the standart unit after a moment. As before with "my" swordsman and axeman they looked alright when moving them. Although that was the first modular mod I ever loaded I am pretty sure that this is not my fault... Very strange. I really hope Zerver can help...

Well, they work flawlessly for me and if you extracted the files correctly (i.e. in BtS/Mods) they should work.

I am not sure this is at all xml related (after all, they work for me), have you tried updating DirectX and your drivers ? Other than that I have no idea what might cause it.

Sounds like you've got "animations frozen" selected in the options. Most mods don't include updates of the "freeze" nifs and so the game seems to revert back to the original unit when the unit is frozen (but not when they're selected). Turn off frozen animations and they will probably work fine.

On topic, though: definitely your best set, Zerver :D

Ah!!! That worked! Thank you. I have switched down the animations because the game already slows down my machine very much. Is there a "fast / easy" way to fix that for freezing mode?

Men, im really sorry for those problems and buggs happened, I can upload the BTS modules for them. Im really sorry :(

And I have very strong machine, maybe these units dont work correctly on weaker ones? Ill upload the fix of the spearman. SORRY AGAIN FOR THESE TERRIBLE PROBLEMS. On my computer they work fine, exept spearman of course, wait a day, please.

Zerver, only the spearman not holding the spear correclty is due to you and your units, the rest works fine for me and apparently for cool3a2 as well, now that he got his game settings right (I didn't even know such a setting existed).

Well, the units work now for me, but nevertheless it would be nice if you would make them working proper in freeze mode as well. This is not a question of "right" or "false" settings. For those that have a strong machine this is sincerly no problem, but I am sure there are others with weak pc than me. I never really played bts because of performance problems (runs to slow, crashes etc, bts was a disapointent for me...) and it would be horrible if I couldn't play (my own) magyar mod no more. At least not with these magnificant units...

Tried it - looks perfect, like the other units. Is there a chance that you make them "freeze-mode-compatible"?

Hmm, some of your units already support freeze-mode. I am quite sure your pikeman does. I guess this is because of the *_freeze*.* files. But I don't know anything about creating units... I can't do anything about this... Hopefully somebody that has the necesarry know-how reads this...

It's not generally possible to do for units with a head change or bone change or whatever (which a large percentage of custom units are, including at least some of this set), without a whole bunch of work in 3ds max (you can't do it in nifviewer or nifskope). On the other hand, if it's just a retexture, you should just need the original freeze files in the mod directory and it should work okay.

You mean I only have to put in the original HeavySwordsman's freeze files and it will work? This would be really easy... even I could do this... I'll try that out.

Okay... I tried that with the chariot. I have already recognized that Zervers units are not only a reskin. Nevertheless I have tried it. It would run, it's only that the chariots driver is magenta now... On the other hand Swordsman and Maceman have freeze files but they don't work proper in freeze-mode. But it sounds like it would be a great work to fix this and Zerver has already done a lot for us Hungarians, so I guess we poor people with slow machines have to take what we can. I don't even allow myselft to ask Zerver if he could reskin the (european) horse-archer included in bts and making it male :mischief:

I got some experiences in working with SceneViewer and so I updated Zervers maceman to make it use a mace. Downlink: click1. The Preferences in the xml-file shoud be the same like for Zervers original maceman.

BTW: which program did you use to create these modells?
