16 civs at the same time!

I just saw on apolyton that a wargamer preview said you will be able to play the 16 civs at the same time!

I think it's false. Other previews have said Civ3 would still have 7 Civs in a game, but Firaxis still hasn't said anything about it.

I think Az is just trying to tell you to read the previews and articles on Civ 3 before making a posting. You sounded like you were making a guess at the number civs playing in a game at one time not an informed statement. Several of the previews have mentioned that the number of civs in any one game will be 7 like Thunderfall mentioned earlier.

I think that the number of civs should be 16. They could have 8 full blown civs, and 8 sub-civs, that were only capable of small expansion and building of a few cities -- but could send out hordes of armies. like barbarians, but with home towns...

16 civs would be grate but I just don't think it'll ever happen.

I don't think you'll be able to play 16 civs in one game simultaneously. There just aren't enough colors. What are we going to use once red, green, yellow, blue, and such are used up. I personally do not want the trouble of distinguishing burgundy from red in order to tell which is my enemy.

How about Red with White stripes in it.
Thats how they solved the problem of only having 2 colors in Risk!

BLACK and WHITE Imagine if those were the only colors that we have in civ!
we could only have two civs!

The review states that the "current plans" are to have 16 civs at the same time, now what if they changed it to make all 16 playable on the same map after all fan "feedback", hey it could happen

I emailed the author of this Wargamer review the other day. He said he would check his sources on it and get back to me, but I am still waiting for his reply.

Is that a recent change or something? If it is, maybe the author just got the real deal from firaxis.
