189 Turn Space Win (quick)

On continent maps I have been going for space wins when:
1. I can quickly conquor my landmass
2. The civs on the other landmasses are preoccupied

The key of course is being left alone so I can save up my great scientists instead of bulbing them for the next military tech. To get a fast win Hagia Sophia is critical to get the +25% great people (free GS helps also) but I have won without it. River for cities to get garden, National Epic in capital and Freedom opener to boost the great people. France worked well to get the necissary policies quickly, including filling out tradition for the growth bonus. Staying happy all the time so growth is not stunted important also. 1 free CS puppet + puppet other civs, any more CS DoW and you lose the ability to buy cultural allies (very helpful.)

Policies:
Tradition opener
Get free dudes from Liberty
Finish tradition
Pick Liberty policies until Renaissance
Open Freedom at Renaissance
Fill out Rationalism
Finish Liberty for free GS
Left over polices keep filling out Freedom

A good player could shave many turns off this I expect.
In my game the other continent players quit when they saw what was happening, even though Japan/England had no cities they were still listed.

Fastest one for you yet eh? But kinda no competition too. Its like a race against yourself.

Did you sign some RAs with them? This is actually a good score if you didn't.

If u play mp games like sp games I truly dont see why u go through all the problems mp games got (lags/drops ...).

If I want test myself (or compare myself to others) about being überteching machine when left allone I play sp - maybe GOTM (deity game was fun) or even HOF and play when I really got time (my usual spare time just doesnt offer 7 hours of playtime without doing something else - thrre is a life out there ,,)

The game was under 3 hours, when the combat was over the turns went quickly.

Won a Space Victory in 186 turns... but it was a Classical Start so don't know how that measures vs Ancient start. Got massive gold from puppeting continent.

My ancient start win record is now 197 turns, but that game I tried "peaceful" meaning no puppets... I did raze a few cities of annoying opponents, like the person who puppeted my cultural ally... liberated the CS then razed a few of their cities for good measure, but took no capitals.

Did both wins with Egypt... for me its more about the +2 happy no-upkeep buildings than the wonder bonus... slap down cities ASAP, use leagalism to get +8 free happy, develop faster than other civs cuz the happy always on green. India gets to be on green if they don't' expand... Egypt get to expand fast and be happy.

As usual, no RAs, no Great Lib, no Hang Gardens used for both victories. I don't like Great Lib now... would rather have a few cities down and my space carved out with land being worked then get an early game free tech.

The purpose of this... to improve tech/building/policy choices...

I beat my record, this time more "legit" with ancient start, 6 FFA, humans staying until the end. However, I was able to get key wonders like Hagia/Oracle/Hang gard/Porc Tower/Notre Dame/Chichen... I rushed my continent and took out Rome/Greece early, maybe the other continent had lots of early wars, or... I do realize that speed is meaningless because with strong players I wouldn't be able to do this. But I do find it fascinating how things can go with ideal conditions.

Playing Aztecs and getting capital 37 and other city 35 with puppet empire... not having to build any more units after Jag/Sword rush.

While I had many ideal conditions, I didn't get any natural wonders in my borders, and there was no El Dorado.

Turn 310, actually.

Hmm let's see :

Standard speed game turn 100 gives :

67 turns quick speed
150 turns epic speed
300 turns marathon speed

If 67 turns quick speed is 100 turn standard, you need to multiplicate by 1.5(it's 100/67). Actually we were both in error!

So a 189 turns quick speed is : 189*1.5 = 283-284 turns

Voilà!

This is not a mega finish date, but quick speed is harder to make awesome finish times, especially in mp games were you need to focus at military the whole game and the fact that a single mistake can snowball much more than any other speeds.

Are these game pace values (time enabled maximum turns) wrong?
Quick: 300 turns
Standard: 500 turns
Epic: 750 turns
Marathon: 1500 turns

Or, are they correct without being indicative of the multiplier used in the rest of the game mechanics?

300 is 60% of 500 : .6
If this is a uniform modifier for all aspects of the game in quick mode, then a turn 186 win (from Silverfuturist's most recent post on this) on quick translates into turn 310 on standard, (granted, unaffected unit movement/combat pace and rounding issues in quick doesn't make this a very solid "equivalent" but more of a convenient estimate) because 186 is 60% of 310

If it is supposed to be 66%, then it is turn 282.

If we divide what?

Sry for my bad english, i mean that we can calculate from 2 different points. It's either 100/67*number of turns or (67/100)/number of turns. Second term refers to a division.

Edit : I found a post related to different speed. It's pretty old but infos are correct.

The vanilla speeds are quick (330 turns), standard (500 turns), epic (750 turns) and marathon (1500 turns).
