2 earth maps

I uploaded some really old (obviously) earth maps I created for Civ 2 eons ago. Hopefully they work--I don't even have Civ2 anymore. One is more or less Eurasia, as I recall; the other is Europe and the eastern half/third of N America (more or less).

did you create western world? that thing is a master piece i downloaded it a long time ago i no longer have it on my computer. its a wonderful map it is a far better improvment over the original map that came with the game called europe. it utilizes all the surface area on the map very effectivly. it seems to be at the same scale as the pacific map even though it shows a diffrent region. i have moved on from this map but western.mp has so much potential if you cant make a version of it using giga map then try map a new version of it like duck flanders nice world that cuts off the northen hempispere at some point close to the article circle then show more of africa. it would be the ultimate civilization map. im currently working on a masterpiece in the making my self its going to be called Giga-nice.mp A MERGING OF GIGA WORLD AND DUCK FLANDERS NICE WORLD. it wont have any antartica when its finished this summer. but its giga map so its only playable with MGE or test of time. but congradulations on western that thing inspired me so much but there needs to be a giga map version of it at the same scale as giga map.

could you make another one using a gigamap?

Thank you! That's very kind. I made that a long, long time ago, yes. I don't have Civ 2 anymore (that was several computers ago), so I can't make any new maps for it. I'm kind of fixated on Civ IV right now. Got some new stuff coming up soon... hopefully!

i could not access this two maps you are talking about they were in a file format that my computer does not use. it there anyway you could upload these maps in the original file format? becasue i needed to look over these two maps to try to use some of there features on my 254 by 230 tile earth map region i was building.

i ment every thing i said about how creative you were in building these two maps western map was my favorite and it trully was the eqivelent of a improvment over the original europe map that came with the game. its just i have not laid eyes on these two worlds you made in so long i forget how many years it has been several years i know that.

i know you moved on from this civilization 2 but i am deep into the test of time version that im still interested in this project and i have not abandoned hope of seeing western map again.

Do you mean you can't open the compressed files? They are compressed in rar format. The utility to decompress them can be found here <http://www.win-rar.com/download.html>. Or you could do what I did and just download them here: <http://www.civgaming.net/mercator/maps/index.html>. I don't have them on my computer anymore, so I just downloaded them and uploaded them to the CF database.

I really appreciate your kind words! I put a ton of work into those maps, as in all my maps, and it's great to hear when someone notices and appreciates my efforts! Thank you!
