(2-NS) Give +1 movement to starting settler

Feels like this rewards lucky players who spot a natural wonder on turn 0.

If you're going to suggest this, suggest it for every settler.

We don't need to add limited exceptions. It just makes the game more complicated to understand.

Not a fan. Negates some of the luck and skill involved in the first moves of the game, and it's weird to add an exception only for the starting Settler.

while I like the idea, I think I'd rather see this as a civ-specific bonus. where one of that civ's perks is that the capital is always in a good spot. would strengthen the bonus in that case, though, to make it sufficiently impactful. +2 move and +2 vision on starting settler. Or maybe all of its settlers?

This is kinda Shoshone's thing that their capital always immediately has access to all nearby good tiles.

You might be interested in using this :

Compatible with VP, I don't always use it because as the name of the mod says it is very convenient, sometimes too convenient.

Edit: My bad, it is no longer compatible sorry. It used to be a few months ago

I like +1 moves for all settlers. It makes capturing settlers in the early game a little harder, which is catastrophic. However, we'd want to remove the +1 boost in the Progress Branch (for just settlers).

It's a nice small change that can make some starting locations viable.

Why? If +1 settlers if fine for a civ specific benefit, why is +2 moves suddenly OP? Honestly the first +1 move is the big deal, as it lets you cross 2 units of rough terrain. Another +1 move doesn't help that scenario much.

Sure, I agree. I assumed some people might take offense to settlers performing at horseman speed.

Considering settlers got a production boost in progress now, making the +1 movement on settlers available to everyone seems fine
