2 population problems I have

1. I have 1 food extra, evenutally I am going to get a new person in the town, only to have that person die off after it drains my granary. My only solution would be to micromanage every town and worker actions to break the odd food amount, which is bothersome with 40 or more cities.

2. A town that was settled on some food giving resource, like cattle or game, cannot be abandoned, you will always have 1 extra food. How to abandon it? My current method, which has major flaws, give it to some AI civ, then attack and raze it.


Number 2 is only a problem I've had with AI towns since I don't often do that myself, and I typically drain their towns for workers, to reduce the depose, and also if the AI rushed in despot they still remember even though I've taken over the city. So I always re-place.
