How do I close the game?

I click quit in the game menu and I get dropped into the dosbox with a command prompt.

I have been using ctrl>alt>delete to exit from there.
What is another way to exit?

I have watched youtube let's plays and in the videos the research person is animated.
Mine is just a still image.
How do I get it animated?

Is it possible to run the game without dosbox?
I using win xp.

You can run either Moo1 or Moo2 without DosBox in XP. In Win7 neither works without some simulator like dosbox.

You can exit by either closing the window with the normal X in the corner or coming back to the dosbox type in exit.

Not sure about the animation, never paid attention to it. iirc you can set DosBox to close the window upon exit. Maybe it is the game that you set it, I forget. I think right click on the properties to find the close on exit option.

Which game are you loking at anyway? I set my own up using a front end shell called ProGammax.

It's MoO2.
I got it at Gamers Gate.
I found another exe in the game folder that runs the game without dosbox, but then I can't find any options to set screen resolution.
The game runs with the window just a bit too large and some of the game falls off the screen.

In the dosbox version I found that I could set the resolution so that the game runs slightly smaller than my monitor and I don't lose any game info.

Moo2 has two executables. One is Orion2 and it is for Dos only. The other is Orion95 for windows95. That is the one that I use to run in XP. iirc it did not have any resolution settings. It probably ran at 640x320. Possibly at 800x600.

There are some issues with Orion95 in XP, mainly the sticky mouse. In some screens on some of my XP systems I could not free the cursor. Especially in the tax rate screen. I had Mo'Slo to fix that in those days.

Frankly I would just run in DosBox. Go to their home page and pick one of the front ends like ProGammaX and set it up. I guess GoG comes with a bat.exe for DosBox that does it for you as well.

Things like mount of the CD and HD. Set the rate up to the highest speed you want to run the game faster. Use the hotkey going full screen or window. I use both modes. I like the window when I want to access my Winamp a lot and change songs. Full screen if not using Winamp or not caring about what plays.
