2007 Mock NFL Drafts

WR might be the deepest position. Calvin Johnson, Sidney Rice, Robert Meachem, Jeff Samardzija, Bowe out of LSU, potentially Ted Ginn Jr should all go in the first round.

Why do you see Brohm as the worst, Red? Anything other than injury problems?

Btw, don't forget that Brees played with alot less talent around him on defense and offense at Purdue. Smith has not had that problem. I am not ready to proclaim him anything yet, I still see him as a solid second round bet.

Oh, and Trent Edwards will continue going under the radar. That happens when your team goes 0-12 :p

I didn't say Brohm was the worst, I said he was potentially the best. The injuries are the biggest thing hurting his stock right now. But my instincts on him are that he is going to go back to school for another year anyways.

I don't know why I read that as worst...my bad. Oh, and one thing about Trent Edwards, I don't know how tough he was since he WAS injured part of the season. That led to the great Era of T.C. Ostrander!

Brohm will likely go now that Michael Bush has declared. They have an ample replacement, but without Bush at RB and no Petrino, it will be hard to compete for the Big East against an experienced WVU team. Rutgers could continue to rise as well, Ray Rice is only a freshmen.

What about that guy who plays for Hawaii who three 58 TD passes this year? It's a D-1A record. Was Brennan his name? He might be a late or undrafted guy, who could become a starter in the NFL (like Romo, who was really good for a small school). Most late round gems tend to be great players from small schools more than OK players from big ones.

He's a junior and returning to Hawaii.

He's the man, the myth, the legend. COLT BRENNAN!!!

Actually, the Ville was without Bush most of the year and did just fine, they have good depth on that team. So yeah, they lose Bush, but the team still retains it's good WR's, the two backs that got most of the carries last year, and has a decent backup QB in Cantwell.

And probably the most significant point to be made as to whether Brohm goes or not is his brother, who happens to be the QB coach there. He's not leaving with Petrino to Atlanta, so if Kragthorpe keeps him (which he probably should considering the QB play there the past 7-8 years), Brohm is probably going to stay.

A lot of info is coming out from the senior bowl, including on some of the QB's we've been discussing.

First, Troy Smith is being heralded as by far the best QB there (Quinn and Russell are not in attendance). He and Drew Stanton have really separated themselves helped their stocks with great practices. Another good note for Smith is that he measured out at 6'0", which should solidify him going in the late first/early second. Jon Gruden is also apparently very enamored with him.

Chris Leak didn't get such good news when it came time to get measured, coming in at only 5'11.

Tyler Palko's stock took a hit due to an apparent lack of arm strength

Kevin Kolb's stock also got hurt due to some questionable decisions on where he went with the ball during practice.
