Hey I usually like to play continents, huge map, with 22 civs and 45 city states (thanks to not another city states mod). The problem is with all those civs the game runs a little slower as the game progresses and then starts crashing a lot. Usually it will just crash to desktop, but now that Im in the medieval era, it freezes when I try to move my longswordsmen, forcing me to shut off the computer the hard way.

When I finally get the game loaded up again after making a sandwhich in the mean time, I can move that longswordsmen, but a few turns later it will freeze again.

Im contemplating whether I should go down to 19 civs but that wouldnt be as fun since I couldnt get all the civs in there ( i didnt get that dlc for nothing!)

Turning graphics down hasnt helped, any suggestions?

I had some crashes on the first release pre-patch when I maxed out a huge map.. I think when I got over 79 cities...
That is fixed now, but things that helped then was zooming in before clicking end turn and running in windowed mode.

It sounds like you built a time machine and traveled several decades into the future in order to obtain an extremely good computer.

Yea I have a pretty good computer with AMD phenom graphics card, but just 2 gigs of ram.

How do I do that?

it's in your c drive folder for civ 5.. it's an .ini. make sure it's the first two terrainpagein's when you scroll down

depth of field works mostly for leader screens however...

You atleast need 4GB if u really want to play huge maps well. My comp specs are above recommended but still I don't play huge maps because they get really slow mid game onwards.

I have a really good comp but I have yet to see if I could even run that spec hehe. I'm tempted to try since my comp is quite high end. I have a quad core AMD and ATI dual GPU HD Radeon and more importantly, 8 gigs of ram. Tempting (licks lips) :yumyum:
