Hi guys,

it's a simple question, I haven't found a clear answer on forums yet:
- I am using BTS.
- I want to play on the 18-civ map as it is on BTS. I don't want a bigger map or a different map because I feel game is too long, civs too big, etc.
- I want to up the number of civs to 24. On the 18-civ map.

WHAT I DID TRY:
- I changed "civdefine" on the BTS gamecore.dll folder to "24" and yet I still have access to only 18 civs.

QUESTION:
what should I be doing? This is getting ridiculous, there are no simple, clear answers on forums and I am finding it frustrating. The 18-earth map is silly in the New World, Indochina and Southern Africa with huge swaths of empty land. PLEASE HELP.

Too bad strategyonly's answer makes no sense and doesn't speak to me at all.

I've opened the Worldbuilder, and can't add any civs.

You can't play with more than 18 players on the standard CvGameCoreDLL.dll file, which is found in the 'Assets' folder. Changing the CvDefines.h from 18 to 24 doesn't cut it. The files found inside the CvGameCoreDLL folder are source files. Any edits you make to those files won't work, unless you compile a new CvGameCoreDLL.dll file. This is a lengthy process, look at the first post in this thread. A much easier solution is to download a modded dll file, which would allow you to play with up to 34 or 40 or 50 civs. There are some of those around, but I'm not an expert in any of them, so I won't recommend one in particular.

GEM and RoM mods use 18+ maps. You might want to check those out.;) (Earth 1000 AD and the Medieval Age also has 18+ civs.)
