Nope to both-it was a matter of prestige, not sttepping on each others' toes. If noone gets this by tonight, I'll answer it, and leave it open.

Nope. Think prestige :D.

Because they couldn't agree who's name would come first, i.e., Stalin-Hitler or Hitler-Stalin?

A blind shot really, but it sounds anal enough to be true. ;)

as the answer is coming tonight I'm gonna throw this into the ring. They were aware of the clauses in the treaty may look dishonourable to others so although they embrased the the treaty they didn't wish to put their names to it less people think less of them......

Correct! The positioning of Hitler and Stalin could (allegedly) not be decided upon, so they went with the next best thing. And as all parties agreed that Molotov was infinitely smarter than Ribbentropp, so was the Molotov-Ribbentropp pact named :D.

Hooray for me for being able to think like power-hungry dictators! Eh...

Questions: Who or what were the German negroes?

Were those mixed race people born out of the 'union' between German women and French colonial African soldiers who were stationed in occupied Germany after the end of the First World War. Known as 'Rhineland bastards' by the Nazi regime who sterlised them.

Nope, that is not the answer I'm looking for.

German negroes or in German Neger were manned torpedoes. They had a driver torpedo equipped with a normal torpedo. The driver had to bring the craft in postion for the attack and then fire the torpedo. It was very risky but in no way a kamikaze action. The Neger was named after the inventor named Mohr. Mohr is an old name for a negro in German, so this name is used.
Negroes or blacks (what is the political correct name in English???) lived in Germany in that times but they were few and since nobody knew in the NSDAP how to handle with them they were a minority with relative freedom and not many actions against them.

The PC word for a black person is 'person of African descent' or if they reside in a particular place, 'African-American' or 'African-New Zealander' or whatever.

I mean, PC-ness sucks.
Haha

Intersting though..

Not an answer to this question, just something I want to share.
I've been on holiday last week and I've learned some WW II trivia that I didn't know. And I don't think many of you know either. I think I can make a good question out of it. If anyone answers the standing question correctly, but has no question themselves; please PM me and I will post a question about my new found trivia.

thanks

Rik, you can go. I have no good at this moment.

Uboats sent by the Germans to trade supplies with the Japanese and operate in the far east from Japanese bases.

I heard this only happened once ?
Trading of supplies with the Japanese, Apparently no attempt was made to share techological knowledge or futhure co-operation with the japanese.

PH is right! In 1943/44 several Uboats were sent to Penang/ Malaya to exchange supplies and to operate from there. One of these boats, no that is a good question for another time! Only 4 Uboats managed it to return to Europe but only 2 of them could rescue the cargo. One was sunk shortly before arriving in Germany the other reached Brest when the allies landed without the fuel to go to Norway.

PH, your turn.

An easy question then

What distinction did USS Greer hold during WW2?

Volum is in so far right as USS Greer, DD 145, attacked U 652 4 month before war! No depth charge hit the boat. It returned home safely. Later the boat operated in the Med sinking a British destroyer. It was scuttled on June 2nd 1942 after being damaged by a depth charge of a British plane. USS Greer survived the war to be scrapped soon after.

He is right in that which matters though. Greer was the first US warship to be fired upon by a Uboat during ww2
