your momma...why the F do any of you care how someone else PLAYS THEIR OWN GAME? i'm a thoracic surgeon and i cheat now and again when the mood strikes. it's my game and if that's the way i want to play, if that's the way I MOST ENJOY MY OWN GAME experience, why should that concern any of you? and before any of you rocket scientists state the obvious, i'm talking about single player games and SO WAS THE OP....geez, get a clue.

It's not so much that he's cheating, which all of us probably do on occasion for fun, but that he's using a special program to cheat on deity, while he has several methods available to him that allow him to do the same without the program.
Despite this fact, he took the time to post here and announce to the community that still plays civ that he isn't going to play civ anymore because a patch took away his precious cheating program that functionally did nothing he can't do regardless.
It's very understandable that he's met with criticism for this decision...it took a small amount of effort for me to be civil in the first response and inform him that his cheating program was useless from the start.
No matter how he plays, I think we can rejoice in the fact that he has played the game for 13 years. I can't think of one other game that would get that reference. He'll calm down, and be back. Cesare, have your break, think about it, play something else for a while, we all know that Civ will be calling to you the whole time.
Sorry but I just found the OP incredibly baffling. Sure, it's his choice to play the game however he likes, it's his choice never to play again. However it is my choice to ROTFL at such ridiculous logic.
Like I said earlier, it's quite possible the OP did not understand that Deity AI was better than lower levels only becuase of bonuses and not because of any code improvements. If he is using a cheat to access a feature of the game which he would like to try I think it's very unreasonable to heap scorn on him. Rather, it would be friendlier to inform him that the only difference in difficulty levels is the various bonuses, and leave it at that. Hostile replies just lower the community standards and sometimes offend people.
Having said all that, I'm not exactly sure what the point of the thread was but I highly doubt the point of his post was to be an ugly green thing that pops out from under a bridge.

Right. I would also assume that he's already played actual games of civ without cheating, and is just doing what he's doing because it's fresh and fun for him. It's not the cheat that's the issue, it's the fact that he comes here throwing a temper tantrum because a patch broke it. It's just ludicrous to threaten never to play the game again simply because he's no longer able to cheat like he could. Maybe if he tried to play the game the way it was meant to, he'd find the experience much more enjoyable.
