Hey,

I'm not sure if anyone has an answer for this question (besides buy an external cdrom drive), but I bought BTS when it came out for Mac but a couple of months ago my cd drive got busted (thought my backpack was zipped up but my macbook pro fell out and hit the ground). I've been bummed since cause I can't play because of the cd-checks but I thought the 3.19 version was supposed to remove the checks?

Is this just a windows patch thing? I'm going to buy an external drive this summer but if there's a solution I'd rather not wait to kick some butt again

Welcome. :wavey:

Correct. The 3.19 patch for Windows removes the DVD requirement, but the Mac version still requires it.

If you have another Mac and both computers have Firewire, you can use the second Mac's drive with the first by hooking up a Firewire cable between the two. Turn on the other Mac and hold down the 'T' key until you see the Firewire logo appear on the screen. Then insert the disc. It should now appear on your desktop.

Another option, depending on your version of OS X, is using Remote Disc, which might be even easier and I think works with Macs and PCs both. You can enable it with System Preferences on the other Mac or install the Remote Disc software for Windows if using a PC.
