3.19 Trouble ! <-- please help !

I have looked at some other threads saying the same thing, but I am not running vista. I downloaded the patch from 2 different places (as well as through the game though I see now that it was hopeless) and after I hit install the patch client just disappears. I have the downloaded version of the game, on windows xp. It is patched to 3.17, I even tried downloading 3.17 and repatching.

what to do!?!

You will need to download the patch from the same place you downloaded the game. If you have already tried this let us know.

I cant remember where I downloaded it as it was over a year ago. Is there a simple way to check?

Firaxis really fails with this patch, I cant even play my rise of mankind saves as its unplayable with bugs.

the patches for the digital versions are the responsibility of the specific vendor where you bought the game from since their digital rights management makes it necessary to adapt the patches for their DRM scheme. Unfortunately the game itself does not state which vendor it is from - but usually the install folder tells you. And of course you likely had some email conversation with regards to the sale of the copy and the download link etc...
