31 Player Hotseat

That would be awesome. But my problem is none of my MP will work. Well, creating that is.

Yeah you won't be able to create the game in multiplayer mode with more than 8 players. Start a game as single-player and post that - I can convert it into multiplayer.

I think I have a rather crude tool put together by now. Please post a save for me to test it on. Any save from a vanilla C3C game or conquests scenario is OK (don't make me install a nonstandard mod though, that's too much effort!). If it works I'll post my solution.

Assuming you wanted all the civs except the barbarians to be human-controlled, this should be the result. Let me know if it works for you.

EDIT: There is a known problem with trying to load a new game once you are playing this one. CTRL-L will not work. Just exit to the main menu and choose Load Game from there.

I did not edit the save file. I loaded it and ran the tool, which modifies the game while it is running, then saved a new copy from inside C3C.

Here's the download link for a rather crude version of it. If I have the time and energy (and motivation, thanks to you people) there may be improvements.

Load your game, run the mp.exe, and enter the numbers for the civs you want to change. Make sure you enter the ! when you are done.

If you are a command-line whiz you can also type mp.exe 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 etc. at the shell prompt if you know the numbers for the civs you want to change.

I've only tested this on Windows 7 64-bit with C3C v1.22 (US English edition). It will almost certainly NOT work with any other version of Civ, although it might work on other versions of Windows. I provide no warranty and will not be responsible if the program eats your first-born and nukes your neighborhood.

Sima, there is another thing we would like to have you motivated for: finish your Story games....

I trust you are using a hex editor to change the playable option for the diferent civs (yes?), if you could point me to the line/part of the file, i could try to find the line referring to the type of game?

It would be excellent if this could be adapted to all forms of multiplayer game. Especially if it can be used not just to create more than 8 human players but also to have more than 8 AI apponents regardless of how many human players there are.

Yes, it's working, but there are some strange effects. Some players may be starting knowing each other even though they've never met on the map, for example.
