360 degree map swivel?

Will Civ 5 have full camera 360 degree swivel control?

Here's a suggestion. Camera movement control and zoom level improves after techs concerning navigation are discovered. So, initially, camera movement is limited.
Horrible. What about allowing Save only after you find a given tech?

Didn't one version of Civ only allow automatic roads after a certain tech?

If you have techs linked to interface improvements, wouldn't it make the discoveries a little more real? Techs linked with the interface could be made optional.

An extreme version would be initial graphcis being black and white 2D but slowly improve.

Or early play could even involve a DOS prompt and typing in commands.

Actually, that was an idea I had for a Game Tycoon game which has never eventuated - at least not yet. ;)

It would make the game without these techs more cumbersome. There is no point having a useful interface mechanics unavailable until you reach a given tech. It's just annoying.

But it would be useless and annoying.

To unlock the ability to see what your city is doing, research Computers.

To unlock the ability to see the map, research Paper.

It wouldn't motivate you - it would make you go back to an earlier Civ.

@The Rusty Gamer

... At the risk of sounding like a d*ck and a butthole, I'll tell you frankly:
Your suggestions in the above few posts are some of the worst excuses for ideas that I have ever laid my eyes on; I am in serious doubt as to whether I will see ideas so bad ever again.

If you're going to link techs with interface improvements, why not make the user unable to turn the lights on in his room until he researches electricity? Might as well take away their computer and make them play with pebbles on a board scratched out on the dirt until the last ~20 turns in the game. </sarcasm>

No hard feelings, though; at least on my part. If you are offended, I am sorry, but I meant every word I said, and I still do.

I would like to know that too. Along a similar line, I'd also like to know how the hexagons will be oriented - will we get the flat sides north/south or east/west? Can we choose?

Uhm, so cavemen had satellite imagery but not the means to move them.
