FfH 2 3.0 - no patches...don't know if I need them?

I built my 4th city but I am not able to build anything. Nothing is even available to choose to build. AFAIK, every city I have built has been a full city and not a settlement.

I went back to an older auto save before building the city and tried to build the city again but I am still unable to construct anything in the city (units, buildings, etc).

Thanks for any help. Please let me know if any more information is needed. I just wanted to get this question out quick as I have to leave to do something. I searched the forums but could not find anything.

If you're playing the Kuriotates you can only build units and buildings in cities, not settlements. Hope that helps.

Thats part of the kuriates sprawling trait. Your Cities can work the 3rd ring instead of only 2 but you get only a limited amount of cities depending on map size.

And when you reach your limit it doesn't tell you that you are building settlement ... it just do it automaticly ... if you don't get the pop-up asking you which to build than it's a settlement ... what size are you playing on???

I wondered about the 3rd ring....I just figured it was a FfH thing since this is my first FfH game. Thanks!

Good point, I didn't get prompted for a type - I just remember not selecting a settlement!

I am playing on a Standard size map. Thanks for the help!

Standard map = 3 cities for the Kurios

Large map = 4 cities for the Kurios

Huge map = 5 cities for the Kurios

All the rest will be settlements.

I hadn't realized that the ability to choose what your cities start as had been reintroduced. I may actually play as the Kuriotates now.

Yes, you get a popup asking whether you want to build a City or Settlement as long as you haven't reached the city cap.

damunzy: Settlements can always be recognized by the (set) next to the cities name, but you probably already guessed that ;-)

You can also cast a spell with any unit to turn a settlement into a city if you have a free city available.
