So I'm right now participating in an exchange program with Italy, and this morning, I got thrown into a German class where nobody in the class gave a crap about learning and the teacher couldn't control the class. Interesting insight about how the Italian educational system doesn't work. However, the rest of the exchange has been great. That it why I haven't been super active on the forums.

I can confirm that about the school so much. It's probably because of the middle school. We came from the elementary school to the middle school, ready to learn new things, and kinda enthusiastic. But middle school has awful methods and really bad teachers, that make you lose interest in everything you had before. So, we arrive in high school highly demotivated.
Just because some dumb politicians can't do some reforms that make sense.
