Can one of our knowledgeable community members comment on whether having dynamic name for same building (and same database entry) is possible without new code? For example, the great people are all the same great people in the database, but they get a unique name.
Requires new code.

A university is not just an academy of sciences though.
For example, Oxford University is also a trash heap.

Edit: the generic name for the ancient universities is apparently "Studium generale"

I'm not quite clear on what this national wonder truly represents. Is it common for countries to have a special lead university that is better than all the others?

Some kind of government science institute seems like it may be a better fit really

That's exactly what I'm aiming at...
Spoiler :
...just lacking the brain capacity to come up with something witty that fits really well... :crazyeye:

yeah don't really like academy, given we already have an academy improvement. I prefer institute

Research institute
Institute of science

For me this proposal is weighing the iconic civ-pedigree nature of Oxford name against a general desire for better thematic alignment of all VP things. It was a civ 4 name and this makes me like it more than I would otherwise.

Would be nice if the first one built could be called Oxford and all the rest generic.. purely thematic concern though, this name stuff, so I don't even wanna suggest new code

Yeah, I perfectly understand your point, and I feel similarly (with all my other proposals, except for the East India Company, for which I have zero regrets).

I always brought up the same exact argument to myself: I got used to it, it's been always like that, and so on. And the fact the art depicts the building itself, another reason to just stay as it is.

But, even as a European, it always felt a bit off to be honest. Especially when you're playing let's say an Asian Civ, or you see with your spy the same exact Oxford University that you built... kinda weird.

Same thing happened not too long ago with Hermitage, and there are other NWs that follow this logic - they fit the game better being generic. And who knows, maybe this proposal will be downvoted into the abyss :)

- I agree, that would be awesome!

Before anyone commit to sponsor it, and its counterproposal, do you have any text in mind to replace the "Historical Info" in the Civilopedia? It's a bit self defeating to change the name, just for the Civilopedia to keep talking about Oxford.

Just use AI to generate one?
