First question is, did you DL and install Solvers patch?
Are you running the game in Debug mode? i've never had a screen show that message?
The disappearing buttons is something i have encountered but have no idea why it is happening. It is a totally random thing.
I have come across a few other problems but think i've fixed them, will know tonight when i test again.

Already had the Unofficial Patch installed, just played a game, the screen is a screenshot I took when the screen froze up. Otherwise see deanej's suggestion.

RL has kept me busy... About the bug, and the disappearing button, it is in my experience that when something is wrongly coded (or perhaps some code affects some other stuff) such things start to happen, it shouldn't be random, so, in order to determine what happened we need more data.

We know that this happened when you started building starbases... does it happen again?
 
That looks like a problem with unit animations (which is not python oriented but will throw a C++ exception with python exceptions enabled).
deanej you lost me after the word animations lol.
Another question about the problem would be 'how many starbases had you built when you got the error message'?
 
Hmm, well, i know nothing about animations, i don't touch them EVER lol.
2 Problems i have come across that i cannot figure out how to fix are-
1 - Training Academy - Originally this worked on a 1 per system basis and used the School of Zealots building. Since the 3.17 patch this is no longer working.
2 - Training Academy - The building image, as above, worked fine until the patch now when it is built you get a new sun circling the primary star of your capital. This can be followed by up to 6 or 7 more Red Balls of failed instruction to find the image. Can anyone help?

I want to apologize for not coming here recently, RL is keeping me quite busy, and to make things worse, someone decided that it would be a great idea to crash his car into mine...while I was driving :gripe:[pissed]:ar15: fortunately there were no major wounds in either of the cars's crew/passengers.

Anyway, the mod is still alive!

Sorry i haven't posted in a while, seems RL catches up with us all sooner or later. Sorry to here about your accident Premier, hope you are well and there wasn't too much damage. I'm no further along with resolving the issues i reported in an earlier post. I Have been experimenting with Civics and all of the different Races Traits. So far i have learned that in doing what i have done means that the research costs for techs need to be revised. I Won't be posting any of this though until i'm happy that the play balance is sufficient for an enjoyable game.
 
I've been wondering about how to include PDFs with move 0 into MOO2Civ, but as all I've been doing so far is XML editing, I'm not sure what files exactly need to be edited for this. I also would like to change the name of the PDF to a Marine-Armor-Cyborg promotable unit. Any thoughts?:confused:
 
Hi all, as promised here is the most recent version of the Mod. I've changed the Civics that FF normally uses to something more B5 orientated. I've also tinkered a little with traits so you'll see some changes there. I've increased research times to allow for the civics/traits but haven't done anything with building costs yet. Promotions have been changed so they relate more to the units crews gaining experience as opposed to new weapons being fitted. The Tech tree has been overhauled with some techs removed some amended and a few new ones added.:D
@Premier Valle, if you have the time and inclination some new pics for the tech tree would be nice, i've just reused some of the existing ones.:mischief:

I Haven't had a chance to play the latest version properly, only loaded it up and started a game to ensure everything was where i wanted it.:confused:

I downloaded the file, and it says version 1.10. While the post says it should be 1.11.
Also I get random ctd's. Any idea what I can do to get it to work, or see what is causing the ctd?
 
you would need to use the debug mode to find out what is causing the problem, how many turns into the game did you get before the ctd and which race/s were you playing at the time? i'm working til late all this week so i may not have any results before friday.

My bad, i forgot to change the version number before i zipped it up and uploaded it.:blush: i'll try and get it fixed when i find out what the problem is you are experiencing.
