So far I like the mod but I have some questions.
1. How come the start is so slow compared to unmodded civ?
2. Has anyone made some videos of themselves playing and put them on youtube?
3. Could someone give me a basic starting strat?
4. Right now I'm playing without modmods and was wondering any modmods for beginners?

1. The slowness (in tech at least) is to encourage specialist focus, you can't just go 'all these techs, then a few of these', it's important to set goals (which get easier as you get more experienced).

2. No idea on videos.

3. Have fun? Make sure you keep your military strong, barbarians have a tendency to eat the unwary, and a stronger neighbour could stack of doom you easily if you just stick to a few defenders. Choose a goal you'd like and hit up the pedia a lot.

4. Modmods generally make this mod even more complicated (aka, more highly unique civilizations, new features to the game etc)

There is so much you can do in this mod it takes a bit to get a good grasp.

I made a game there to test something else out but theres a lot of saves and notes on why I played the way I did. Might be useful to you. Its on a slightly higher difficulty level than I recommend starting out on but most of the strategy should remain the same. I'll keep looking in this thread if you want to ask me any questions about it.

Charybdis is quite correct when he says you should specialise which part of the tech tree you get. If you look at my game you'll see I haven't researched Hunting by 250, I've just been going up and up.

1. Normal speed in FfH is more like Epic in unmodded civ, and Epic is almost like marathon... (at least, in my feelings)
2. I believe, no
3. read this forum :). For example, see this threads:

Try some "easy" civilisation, that do not concentrate on magic. (example civilisation may be Khazads)
4. no. modmods generally add more features. You better try with "vanilla" FfH first, then go and look into modmods
