Does that happen frequently with your hard drive?

It'd be fun to destroy an HDD. I seen a video on youtube where they drop it off 4 stories but it doesn't break at all. So they pour liquid nitrogen over it several times and it eventually comes apart.

destroying stuff is fun, I don't see why one should go out of their way to specifically destroy a hard drive unless they need reliability data (and then they must methodically destroy it)

Well, I don't hurl harddrives all over the place.

The videos were just to show various ways to destroy an HDD. I think they also used a jackhammer and one of those super-high-pressure water hoses....

I gave a friend a pair (each an inch) and asked him to separate them. He managed to slip the tip of a finger in between them just before they slipped

If I find our camera Ill take a photo of my stack of neodymium magnets from the HDD's ive taken apart over the years. There should be at least 20 pairs.
