there is still NO justifacation for using a ship as land based powers UU- it has a single shining point in history, and then what do we hear about it-nadda! nothing, zippo, none, nothing, negative of somthing, null.
whiule the cataphracts were the troops of choice for byzantine generals!
as I said in the other thread- that is herasy pure and simple , though that would be an acceptable waist if the Byzantines got a Cataphract, hells, I'd accept no traits for the Byzantines if we got cataphracts...
Hey Xen, how good is Norwich's Short History of Byzantium? Anything else recommendable (and no, I'm not going to read his complete history, so that's out )? I have the Norwich, but haven't gotten to it yet.
the only one is when the inital introduction of Greek fire was used- and that was IT, the most it ever got to see after that was minor skirmishes with the kinds of forces that might make a single unit hit point, usually against pirates, and raiders...
