Exactly what "data" files are to be submitted along with the saved files?

You need only the 3 .SAV files. Be sure to save at 1 AD, 1000 AD, and just before you end the game. Unless you finish before 1000 AD, you should be sending a total of 3 .SAV files in to Matrix.
Note: the files are called .SAV in PC systems. Not sure about MAC computers

Kevin if your are talking about the bonus score for early finish then it doesn't count because:
1. the score is the same for people that have finished in different years.
2. It would give early finish games a to big advantage.

I also don't need that. I used to, but I'm not doing anything with it anymore. So there's no point in giving you that trouble, is it?
Shadowdale answered that question a bit already. But we've got our own way of rewarding early finishes. And that bonus score of Civ2 itself is purely based on the finishing date -> not good enough for us.
