hey i watched a lot of topics and video's of civ 6 but i couldn't find answer's to these 2 questions maybe some forum member's could help?

First question : how does espionage work? What is changed compared to civ 5. But most importantlly did they change the counter espionage so its easier to kill a spy that is trying to steal technology.

second question: can you finally ask the AI to move their troops or declare war?

Often if you move troops next to aI border they will ask are you going to declare war or passing through.. This was a anoying mechanic because YOU COULDNT DO IT. It was so annoying to see the Ai with lots of troops near youre border. And not asking him about it and calling him out.

1) The Espionage system works a lot like the one in Beyond Earth. There are a lot of different kinds of missions. Also, the Spy unit works like a Trade Route. You don't move it around the map, you just direct it to whichever district you want it to go to, via a menu. In order to catch a spy, you have to place your own spy on the district that the enemy is attempting to work in. You don't know which one it is in though, so it's a bit of cat and mouse. If a spy is caught, it can be traded back to the owner. Think Gary Francis Powers. Finally, you can't steal technologies outright, but you can gain Eurekas.

2) I don't know.

And important difference with counter espionage, is that a spy does not protect a whole city anymore, rather they protect a district and any neighbouring districts. This means you can have multiple counter-spies in your city. For instance, as in Quill18's video: he had a counter-spy in his Spaceport, but an enemy spy managed to sabotage his Industrial Zone (which was not adjacent), which still caused a disruption in production towards the space race he was conducting.

Jep i thinx i am going to dissable it looks like civ 4 bulshit. Where you olso couldn't counter espionage

it sounds interesting to me, I don't remember using spies in Civ 4 (was this added in an expansion?)
:] I like that there is some system like this that appears later in the game, that is interesting to use

The problem i had with espionage there wasn't any good way of counter espionage its allways a gamble sometimes you catch them sometimes you dont really?
It should be 50% either the civilization you are spying on has a counter spy or it hasnt. If it has one you get killed.
I dont want the same bulshit when you are in in the lead all Ai target espionage on you and poison youre water or destroy improvements and so on. Withouth you stopping them. Same in civ 5 stealing techs constantlly and youre counter spy just sit there ocasionlly he kills a spy.

Dont like that its a system like cat and mouse play. and you have too be lucky to catch a spy. Thats my biggest problem with espionage no counter.

Olso spies can steal great works really that sounds really broken withouth a certain notification where it happenned and no change to counter it.

I was just hoping that they would make it like rise of nations where spies where unit invissable to other units accept you guess it other spies so how to kill spies built youre own and move them with youre army or put them next to youre cities.
