A Game of Thrones: Genesis is now available on steam, coming out on September 28, looks very interesting so far. Seems like a great RTS game, if a little bit total warish. Personally I think this game will need a really good AI if it's going to be good, although the 8 person multiplayer sounds very interesting:goodjob:

I am so glad that someone is making this game. And it does sounds like they are doing the series justice. Plus George R.R. Martin himself was active during the development process.

Apparently the same developer is also releasing an Game of Thrones-RPG sometime in the future.

EDIT: just read about the DRM, as well as being steamworks (which I am fine with) you also have to register with some other third party program that limits you to five installs at a time :(, I'll still be purchasing this one, but I hope they see sense and remove the other DRM in an early patch.

Double-Edit: Here is the third-party DRM website

Definitely interested. May get it when it comes out.

It looks awfully small scaled :/ However I shall wait and see what it is like and maybe pick it up during a sale. Hopefully it turns out better than it looks, I love the books (although I have not read the newest one or seen the TV show yet :( ).

Normally any game that is a license of a book is poor......and any that is a license of a movie/ tv show is poor. Any that are a license of both are usually god damn awful.

Maybe check out the demo but this has got "Cash in" written all over it and I will fully expect it to be awful

On the contrary, most games based off of books I've played, assuming it wasn't based off of the movie of the book, are usually good. :dunno:

Well, it definitely doesn't match the scale of the books (looks like it's only Westeros) I am quite impressed with what we know so far about the tactical mode, both singleplayer and multiplayer. Although the actual campaign looks a little too linear for my tastes.

If they can really combine diplo, economics, and war as equal options in a rts game they will be the first. I am excited for the game as I love the books and tv show.

Seems to be out now. Any reviews or impressions yet? The world of GoT is so great I guess I must to buy this if it's at least of average quality.

My computer that is capable of playing this game crashed on Sunday:(, so I won't be playing it for a while.

It seems like it is a remarkably low profile release considering the success of the book and TV series.

Bought it... seems interesting. Not as vast or immense as the movies or the books but still a good play nonetheless.

Haven't really fought many wars... the game is mostly forming alliances and shifting your power to counter other houses. The only actions that I have really seen were assassins killing merchants, envoys or other assassins. Only twice have I personally sent armies to fight another army and I played 6 games.
