Then once the right-of-passage clears up you can attack from to differant fronts!!!!

Why be satisfied with only a new front? You can stack 4-5 tanks near each of the major enemy cities, and if you like, some artilleries too. Then at he turn that ROP expires, destroy those cities mercilessly. Then use the next several turn to finish those small, faraway cities. That civ would never recover from such an attack, even if they could survive. But this strategy works only once. After you've done that, it was almost impossible to get another ROP.

We already said this once.... You lose respect from the other countried. The idea I said at the beginning you wont lose any respect points, because when you attack you are still outside of their terrority.

You can use ROP is another way, if you're brave. If you're some strong guy's neighbor and you just know that he's due for expansion (at your expense, of course :)), offer him ROP. Usually, he won't bother attacking you, plus you gave him a passage to attack other civs. If he does attack you, he won't be able to get any alliances against you, so at least you have only one enemy to worry about. As for the danger of having units inside, I find that AI typically isn't nearly as ruthless as some humans, and doesn't park stacks of tanks on the porch of each city. Yet another way to use ROPs, which is more devious, is if you're located smack between two warring civs. You can balance their might by giving ROP to the weaker civ. The stronger guy's units are sitting ducks getting through your territory at 1 or 2 sqaure per turn, while the weaker guy picks and chooses who to attack and from where.

I'll have to try that some time.... right now I don't have my civ3 CD(even through I almost bought it again)

Ok.... guys Here's a new idea for thr ROP:

When your playing a game that your not doing to well in and need gold, alliance, technology, etc. Try adding the ROP to what your'll give them. This works really good if your between two AI's at war. Just trade one(or even both) the ROP and their give about anything for it(other than 500 gold 2 techs and cities.)

Hope this helps!!!

Hope this thread helped some people. It's not getting much more reponse and posts so it's probley not going to stay up long after I make this post(which will probley send it to the top) But Thanks to whoever posted/commented!

Ok..... For whoever cares or for those of you who don't here's another good idea for the R-O-P:

If the AI you are currently playing has any empty squares in their terrority sign a ROP with them and you can do one of two things

1. Move a settler to that empty spot and build a town their. Once the town is built rush build temple, libarary or anything else that produces culture to get a nice culture take over from inside their CIV!

2.Send your units to that empty spot. You can keep on sending units over the 20 turns then once it expires attack. You wont lose respect, because you are not in their terrority when you attack.

That's what I do too. Only have to make sure you are ready for the war.

In the game I just finished (China, Regular map, Regent), I used the ROP in a more straightforward way. I was on a continent with Zulu and India. France and Greece each had their own continents, and some others were already destroyed. I was in third behind India and Greece, and had signed an MPP with Greece, France, and India, and started building up my military (early modern age).

I was dead center between Zulu and India, when I attacked Zulu. Zulu and I had equal military, and India was a bit stronger than both of us. When at war, we were all gracious in our unity to destroy Zulu (great for trading, even though France and Greece barely got their boats over before the war was finished). I gave India ROP, so they could send dozens of war elephants across my railroads to weaken the Zulu. Then, I just took over the cities that they had weakened. I took all of the Zulu cities except one I razed (population 25, too much hassle), and one that India took.

The final result was that I had 3/4 the continent, had continued to grow culture, production, and cash through the war, and afterwards I just kept the MPP's with everyone to maintain peace with the world while I went ahead of everyone. Without the ROP, I would've been in a long war, had much weariness, lost production, etc... At the start of the war I was in third, shortly after I was ahead. I built the UN to control the vote, and (barely) won with the Space victory, when I was definitely going to lose otherwise...

So, the ROP helped without any sneak attacks. I've never used it before, as I don't even trade my maps because I like to keep everything real secret and I definitely don't want anyone poking around my cities. This may not work on the higher levels, I just get crushed on them so I still play only the first three levels.

Whenever I'm ready to take this step, I'm always ready for war. I usually take the high road and try to bury my foes with technology; but I am always ready for a fight :ninja:! And the enemy is always begging for mercy. Sometimes I even give it to them!;)

That's what I do most of the time. If you got horsemen when everyone else has swordsmen then there's a good chance you'd win.

It depends with me..... Diety for tiny map size and warlord for large map size.

This thread has been up and down the Forum for about 2-3 weeks now, with about 5 ideas.(Not much byy there's not much to do with the R-O-P is there?)Well anyway back to the point. I got another one! Here it is:

(This works for only the orginal game.... No patch's)

You got an enemy across the sea? Great here's a way to get your small galley across the sea. First find someone on your contient who has boats that can traverse over sea squares(not shallow). Get them to move over to the other contient.

I don't know how you can do this, but you can always try to ally with the AI. Sign an R-O-P with them also.

When their boats head out make your galleys follow behind them. They must stay withen a 5 square distancebehind the boat or they will sink!

I had someone send me this one by e-mail so tell me if it works or not.

Also tell me if this thread helped you!!!
I would really like your comments and/or suggestions about if this thread has helped you or not.

Is there anyway that I can get a poll added or add a poll to this thread. If so tell me please,!
