Ive seen so many like Civ II expansions mentioned everywhere but cant find them anywhere, Im all confused. Can I have a list of all the Civ II Expansion Things and what they do?

The 2 that were significant are:

Fantastic Worlds-added scenario creation tools most notably an events editor.Events.txt allows creators to add events based on gameplay situations like killing a certain unit type will create a new unit or a technology breakthru...etc.This is a huge feature that enabled creators to have things happen the way they want.

Multiplayer Gold Edition(MGE) added online multiplayer

Conflicts was the first expansion to add support for events, FW just built upon that and added more scenario capabilities.

Alpha Centauri is a different game (but still Civ-style).

Test of Time is the last addon to Civ2, but is not compatible with any earlier versions. It's very underrated IMO, mostly because of the crappy graphics. But it has the greatest scenario capabilities of all Civ2 addons.

Could you elaborate please? I'm interested in TOT. What's so bad about the graphics/ good about the scenario capabilities?

Why not buy it anyways.
Its really cheap and worth wile buying on principle alone.
Not to mention that you'll be playing Civ2 with an alternative flavor.

The thing I love about ToT is that you can make a real fantasy/SF story out of it. And in what other Civ game can you teleport a Dwarf to a Magic Cloud in the sky and terraform it? (that isn't in the Civilopedia, but you can do it--the effects are wild :D)

The terrain is dark and drab. The menus are a kind of dark granite affair. Neither appeals to me. The units are poorly rendered and lack clarity. I ended up replacing the unit and menu graphics, and most of the terrain. ToT's colour depth is 15-bit compared to 8-bit for earlier versions, so there's a potential for much better graphics than its predecessors.

This table covers the major differences between the 3 main expansions for Civ2. The chief advantage for scenario designers is the greater capacity for events, both in terms of available memory and the enhancements to the macro language. There's also the advanced unit fields (invisibility, unbribable, tribe may build mask, etc), impassable terrain flags, up to 4 maps, technology restrictions for specific civs and 18 additional unit slots.

WOW - great comparison! Just added to my bookmarks!
I compiled that table a couple of years ago after people kept asking questions about the different versions of Civ2. There were also those who rubbished ToT without having the faintest idea of what they were talking about. Now I just send them over to that page. :)
