A lot of topic notification mails!

I received about 20 topic notification mails for just 2 different topics which i posted on today about 2 hours ago.
After i posted, i went to other threads and i didn't even return to those first 2.
I didn't even open my mail account.

Can anyone explain?

You're subscribed to those two threads. Lots of people posted into those 2 threads, in the last 2 hrs.

Nothing unusual in OT, for such active postings.

Go to CP (control panel), click options, and about the middle of the page see "E-mail notification by defaut". Toggle this to no. Go back to cp, then to subsribed forums, and unsubsribe to the threads.

Yeah but i would normally only get one notification until i actually viewed the thread again.

Thats why i'm wondering.

pff i was a week away and i got about 100 mails.

I found it annoying also.... So I blocked the e-mail address that sends those to you. (Sorry TF )

I believe it will only send you an e-mail each time if you are logged on to CFC. If you aren't logged on you only get one until you come back and check it.

As you are browsing through CFC it will give you an email notification each time someone replies. It is worst in OT, where there are tons of people browsing and replying - you'll get tons of those emails. To counter this, I delete all extras.

It is a huge problem - sometimes I'll be checking my mail and as I go through the messages the number of mails will go up with the replies!

That's why I always turn notification off in a thread that I move to OT after warning someone. It can fill up fast.
