A Mod Idea...Relative Power

It might be interesting to see a reading of relative power displayed on the score window. If not relative power, at least relative growth.

I'll explain the concept as relative growth, because I'm not sure of the factors necessary to have a true relative power calculation.

There are four civs: A, B, C, and D
Essentially the civ who grows the most in a turn, say Civ C would receive value of 0 (because they are in first.) Lets say it grew by 50 points in the last turn. Civ B and D both grew by 43 points in the last turn, and Civ A grew by only 10. the relative scores would then be:
Civ - Score - Relative change
Civ C - 4862 [0]
Civ B - 5486 [-7]
Civ D - 5247 [-7]
Civ A - 3500 [-40]
Although...it would actually be organized like this:
Civ B - 5486 [-7]
Civ D - 5247 [-7]
Civ C - 4862 [0]
Civ A - 3500 [-40]

Civ B is actually in first, but Civ C is growing faster. If this could be done with the abstract concept of power...then it would be possible to see which cive was the most powerful at any given time, and the relative strengths of civs/alliances.

Not sure how useful it will be, but it might be interesting. Anyone willing to tackle it?
 
Interesting concept. Although I think points accumulated each turn are dependent on researching technology, acquiring land, population, and wonders. These happen at variable increments so a civ may go 5 turns with +0 and then get +212 the next turn.

I think the current model gives us a decent calculation of each civs power. An analogous idea may be to assign percentages to each civ.
Civ B - 5486 [29%]
Civ D - 5247 [28%]
Civ C - 4862 [25%]
Civ A - 3500 [18%]

I guess this would just make it simpler to compare the power of alliances. Instead of adding 4 digits in your head, you just need to add 2.

So how are you thinking of getting the percentages? Total up every civs power and then divide each civs current power by the total power in the game?
 
Sure. Total every *known* civ's power. If you only know one other civ 55% vs. 45% would be more helpful than 15% vs. 13%.The percentages are really just there to guide the user and can be thus curtailed to no end.

I'm sure Cornmaster has something more substantial in mind than just simplifying the power meter. Perhaps we take the idea of the net change in power, but stretch it over a five turn period. This way some of the randomness is summed out.
