A New Dawn on Earth and the Space Adventure

The mod is incredible! Believe me! You must learn the new concepts brought by the mod.

That's no excuse for plainly obvious mistakes. I'm also not really happy with some of those civics and religions tbh, now that I have actually gotten to know the mod.

I think the map Earth2, on standard size and with 18 civs, provides an early contact game.

Can we please have at least Large or Huge? Otherwise it would be pretty cramped with 18 civs. Also I'd prefer Hemispheres with the map specific settings Varied, 3 or 4 Continents, and Islands (instead of Tiny Islands).

I furthermore suggest the following settings to be activated: (Consequently that means all settings I don't name here are off.)

No Technology Brokering
Permanent Alliances
Multiple Production
Multiple Research
Usable Mountains
Fixed Cultural Borders
Surround and Destroy
Advanced Diplomacy
Unlimited Wonders
Barbarian Generals
Great Commanders
Advanced Economy
Realistic Culture Spread
Larger Cities
Religion Decay
United Nations (Actually not sure about this from its description alone, if we activate it does that mean Diplo victory is deactivated? Come to think of it we should discuss possible victories as well.)
Advanced Espionage
Expanded Castles
Artic and City Parks
Meteorology
Civic Buildings
Early Buildings
Historical Wonders
Guilds
Modern Corporations
Advanced Nukes

DynamicCivNames Mod
Ranged Bombardment
Opportunity Fire
Battle Effects (If the bug has been fixed where terrain just stays damaged forever in PBEMs instead of disappearing after some turns? Has that been tested yet? I am quite adamant that we do test this if we want this activated, because I do not want a stone age skirmish between two warriors to be responsible for a tile being useless in the 20th century. Granted, maybe this bug doesn't even exist in this mod component itself and was only in LoR from where I know it, but I don't want to take any chances.)
Archer Bombard (Eeeeeeeeeeeeeh maaaaayyyyyyybeeeee, what are other opinions on this?)
Active Fighter Defense
Fighter Engagement
Enhanced Air Bombardment
IDW Influence
Pillage Influence
Spy Promotions
Bribe Mission
Assassinate Mission
Defender Withdraw
Resource Depletion
Better AI Interception
Dynamic XP
War Prizes
Realistic Diplomacy
Multiple Religion Spread
Terrain Damage (Wait a minute, can it be that this option is the one I meant with the paragraph I wrote for Battle effects above? Gotta check.)
Terraforming
Reforestation
Sea Tunnels
Can Trade Workers
Can Trade Militaries Units
Can Trade Corporations HQ’s
Can Establish Right of Passage
Can Establish Embassies
Can Trade Contacts

Btw are there any known bugs, glitches, or other issues we should know about? Because I can't imagine such a ridiculously complex and feature bloated mod to be 100% perfect in every little thing.

The mod crashes my Civ4. Any suggestions?

What kind of crash? MAF?

To desktop with the 'Civ4 has crashed, what do you want to do?' dialog box.

Something like this ...

While we are finalizing game settings, we should kick off a dummy pbem game using this mod. I have heard of pbem games failing when under a mod even when everyone has the correct mod installed.

I have tested the mod with 5 civs on pbem mode and everything has run ok. But I have played for 50 turns only. If anyone have more time, please, make your test and notify us with feedback.

That's no excuse for plainly obvious mistakes. I'm also not really happy with some of those civics and religions tbh, now that I have actually gotten to know the mod.

Give a chance to the mod, Knoedel! Relax man!:D It is not perfect, but will be very fun play with new mod's contents. I'm sure this game will be very interesting and challenging!

Can we please have at least Large or Huge? Otherwise it would be pretty cramped with 18 civs.

I am reflecting about that.

United Nations (Actually not sure about this from its description alone, if we activate it does that mean Diplo victory is deactivated?

If activated, this option will allow all UN resolutions and international decisions, but the game will not end with a Diplomatic Victory.

Come to think of it we should discuss possible victories as well.

The space race victory, as unique victory condition, despite extend the game, ensures that mostly parts and contents of the game will be played.

I have tested the mod with 5 civs on pbem mode and everything has run ok. The damage has disapeared after some turns.

Terrain Damage (Wait a minute, can it be that this option is the one I meant with the paragraph I wrote for Battle effects above? Gotta check.)

Inhospitable terrains like deserts, tundra and ice will cause a certain damage per turn to the units.

Btw are there any known bugs, glitches, or other issues we should know about? Because I can't imagine such a ridiculously complex and feature bloated mod to be 100% perfect in every little thing.

I don't know other bugs or glitches, but it is possible it exist. I do not know so deeply the mod to assert the contrary.

Archer Bombard (Eeeeeeeeeeeeeh maaaaayyyyyyybeeeee, what are other opinions on this?)

I think Archer Bombard brings the necessity of new strategies to the early games. This will make the game more interesting.

Also I'd prefer Hemispheres with the map specific settings Varied, 3 or 4 Continents, and Islands (instead of Tiny Islands).

What do you think about to start a new game, created by you, with this configuration and this mod. We can play the two games at the same time. I would like to play other game with the mod. It would be very interesting!:)

Finally, I agree with the other configuration options listed by you, despite I have some doubts yet about some few options.

That is not what I meant.

I would strongly suggest you start a dummy pbem game with the mod that you are proposing to play with and send the first save to all players. The test is not to see if your PC can access the pbem save with the mod ... the test is to see if the other players can access the pbem save that your PC created with their 'versions' of the mod.

I have seen pbem games fail because a player cannot open the pbem save even when the mods are identical.

I understand now what you meant. You are right! A test is extremely necessary. How many turns we must to play on the test? And your problem with the mod? Unsolved yet?

I would think 1. If a player can open the save, then opening multiple versions shouldn't be an issue.

And your problem with the mod? Unsolved yet?
HA! My problem. I guess you could call it that.

Anyway, no luck even getting to the start menu when loading the mod. The mod does seem large (very close to 1Gb) ... is that right? What elements are so big? Can I strip them out?

My PC is more than adequate (16Gb RAM, tons of free space, etc).

I have the right version. I am available Monday thru Friday, generally between 9am and 6pm. GMT -5. Depending on how busy I am and how backed up I am, I may be slightly delayed, but generally I'm pretty good. I hope to wrap up a few games in the coming months which will help lighten the load.

The mod is really big! I think that all the files are needed.

Anyone have any idea how to fix the ruff_hi's problem?

I had that same crash message.

It is very important delete the previous version installed before install the new. If you want maintain it, rename the folder of the new files installed to "Rise of Mankind - A New Dawn 1.75C". It will avoid installation conflicts.

It is very important, delete the files "Civilization IV.ini" and "Civilization IV.ini.bak" on the folder "C:\Users\...\Documents\My Games\beyond the sword".

Now it works.

Hi, guys. I'm happy this is about to start.

GMT -3

I have the correct version and I can play at any time of the day, from Monday to Friday.
