A peaceful strategy for OCC space race

It is even possible to omit Drama/Global Theatre if you make the NP a high priority. But this depends on happy resources and how many times you pissed off the UN later.

I don't understand. How can you trade for that many happy resources? NP leads to a huge city, which really needs the Globe. NP for health, Globe for happiness. And it's true, the UN is the bane of OCC. I hate defying resolutions, but I ain't giving up Representation or Caste. My OCC city is usually about size 27, hard to keep that many people happy.

For 95% or more of the games, Nat'l Wonders should be

National Park - already discussed. Be very careful about chopping BFC forests, clear cut everything outside (except one or two defensive positions).
Globe - I always need the happiness. I don't think I could get close to city size limit without it.
Oxford - no comment.
National Epic - With all those wonders, the base GP rate is through the roof. This raises that. All game. Probably worth at least 3 Great People.
Ironworks - I've given up coal, which hurts. But I still get Iron frequently and the extra Engineer slots are useful when building the parts. Before Rocketry, this does nothing without Iron.

I tried to follow this... it didn't work for me. I quit playing when I realized I wasn't going to win. I wasn't allowed to build the space elevator because I was too far north. And for an unknow reason, I couldn't build a dam either?

I was kinda lucky that in my BFC I had two clams, pigs, and wine (and later iron) and just outside that, corn and horses. Later on I also had cows and coal inside my cultural borders. And I was able to trade for copper. Oil was close by, but another civ setteled a city right next door to get it.

I've never had so many GP! That was cool.. (never really got the whole GP farm down before).

Wang Kon (?) got Apollo finished first and had more cities to crank out parts.

Warring was minimal.. there was a city right next to me, and later I realized it was now a city ruins (I have show enemy moves off, so I missed that whole war). [EDIT: wasn't a war, city flipped to me and was auto razed due to OCC constraints]

I included the save, if anyone has suggestions?

I'm gonna go start another game, see if I can do better.

Space Elevator isn't useful in BTS anyway (this guide was written before BTS came out) because the tech that unlocks it is too late doesn't let you build any actual SS parts. Back when this guide was written the SE might have been worthwhile.

And you can only build Hydro plants if your city is on a river.

You dont have to settle Artists you know, you can BULB them for techs. Burn them and Prophets for one or two golden ages

Just sayin....
